Does the TRD exhaust really increase the sound level?

I'm debating on getting one when/if I order my Taco. I had a borla exhaust on my explorer before, and the interior drone was horrible, although the sound overall was nice.

So I'm trying to get an idea of how the TRD exhaust compares to the factory. I'm not interested in aftermarket options, so it'd be TRD or stock.

I have the TRD exhaust and it is quite a bit louder than stock. I just added a 18" resanator to tone it down a bit. Outside it sounds really good, inside was a little loud for me. Near perfect with the resanator, still sounds the same on the outside, just quieter on the inside. Nice tradeoff.

I dont find the TRD exhaust too loud. Maybe a little louder than stock, but silent when cruising.

I agree with Chris. The TRD is just SLIGHTLY deeper than stock. No where close to annoying. There's a lot of people on this forum that dont like the TRD cause its not loud enough. The muffler is a few inches shorter than stock so its pretty muffled. Enough to pass California's sound laws. -=o)

    Lots baby!
Put some long tubes on and it's a little deeper tone.

Just installed mine last week and I would say it is a little throaty at take off, loud at wide open throttle and barely hear when cruising the highway. I love the new sound and have had several compliments about the sound. Go for it and you won't be dissapointed.
