TRD headers, if you have them, would you do it again, or waste of $?

I enjoy mine, but I'm SC'd so it provided a benefit. Not sure how much gains can be had w/out a SC

No doubt in my mind. My Dcab is N/A, but I can still tell a difference towing.

Most bolt on parts are fairly useless,is just the way it is. a modern engine is built to maximize as much of what it reliably can produce while meeting govt mandates. if slapping on a couple simple bolt ons could net real results, it would roll off the line with them already attached so the numbers could be in the advertising.

Every engine is different, so there might be an extra hp or 2 still there but you'll spend some money finding it and it's only going to show up for a short time on the charts if you have a dyno.

Fi makes a real difference, some parts can help it make more of a difference. but short of going that route at best you make the truck louder.

I've added just about every part known to man to my vehicles and so far they all fall into the "sonething to do with my weekend" category far more than the "actual difference" category.

That's excluding things like regearing that aren't really in the bolt on type and produce noticeable results.

There are tons of bolt-ons that add performance. And comparing the cost of cast manifolds to bent/welded SS headers is just silly. That said, you would need to upgrade the entire system to see any real gains with most. With headers alone you won't change much but if you also open up the intake or supercharge and increase the fuel you will certainly make more power.

Expect to spend big money if you want results.

Depends on if you think $700 and a horrible install is worth 10-14hp. ive seen superchargers go used under $2000. thats better bang for buck imo.

So much this. Headers for my turbo kit were a freaking nightmare... Obvioulsy the end result was worth it for the turbo, but for 8whp, no way in hell.

Yep, and don't forget that 0 is a number included in the "up to 15hp" claims. After many scientific studies researching gains of your common parts every scientist has come to the conclusion that if you spend $2000 to add 5 parts and net 5hp, you're an idiot

Most hp on a na truck ive seen gained was 14hp from some dt headers. Actually i should say that gains throughout the rpm starting low looked fairly good. If you can find a used set and know what your at to install them then id say go for it.

I have the TRD headers and TRD supercharger. Both came already on the truck when I bought it, so I can't compare it to how it was before. But the TRD headers/exhaust sound fucking awesome, that much I can say for sure. Very low, deep grumble. I have to take it easy driving through my neighborhood because it'll set off a couple car alarms if I'm not. It's not that it's obnoxiously loud, I think it's more to do with the sound vibrations. Anyway, I highly recommend TRD headers if you can score them (considering they were discontinued by TRD years ago)
