I noticed the TRD intake and exhaust (long box version) were in stock at the warehouses finally and put in an order through my parts department.

Very tempted to toss the truck on the dyno and install both items in stages and check whp results. There is a mustang dyno near by that I'm sure I could u$e.

Anyone seen pictures of the intake installed yet? Curious as to the gains and response of both items getting installed.

I will post pics and dyno sheets if I can get on it for a reasonable price in this thread.

I'll post up once I've bought them. I didn't even check my price on it yet

Hope it works out for you.

Don't be disappointed if you don't see any gain though.

I thought the "intake" was basically just a different panel filter and an airbox top that says TRD on it...

Exhaust you might actually see some gains out of.

Do they still offer a TRD supercharger like they did for earlier trucks?

LOL direct me to where the headers are on the 3.5

You're only as good as your worst bottleneck, and if that bottleneck is post-header there are gains to be had. Based on the fact that these 3.5s make north of 300HP in Lexus trim, I'd wager the cast-in collector heads can flow plenty well already. So your bottleneck is either upstream (Cams / Engine management) or downstream (exhaust). My money is on upstream but I wouldn't be surprised to see a small HP bump in the higher RPM w/exhaust.

You can't gain more hp from just changing out the filter besides increasing surface area to decrease pressure drop across the filter. The limiting point would still be the same cross flow area at the throttle body.

The only gains from the exhaust would be less drag through the pipe and muffler. The real gains would be new headers which this engine I believe has internal headers which leaves just having a high flow cat the only possible hp gain.

The only real HP gain per $ with NA is to figure out how to retune the engine. Toyota under tunes the engine to make it reliable and fuel economical. If you could retune the engine with 93 oct. the truck could see gains up to 20-30 hp at the crank.
