I am satisfied. Certainly not supercharging or putting on a turbo but I am good with this.

Love the red accents! What paint did you use for the engine cover lettering?

Stickers from TVD Vinyls. Pretty simple and just for fun and visuals

Just ordered a similar set off eBay! Sorry to steal your thunder but I love the extra dressing under the hood (especially in my Pro model... should've came stock like this!!!).

Thread-jacking my own thread... where did you get the TRD oil-cap with the red lettering? When I purchased mine, the only option available was the Japanese version that looks like this...

Completely fine with this version but I would have preferred the black and red decal. Just curious.

Just received my TRD CAI. I now notice that it has an extra, somewhat thin filter in the upper housing. Not sure what this is for. Should I leave it in or take it out?

That's the charcoal filter. It's there to prevent engine fumes from coming into the cab. I tried removing it on my stock box and it didn't make any noticeable difference in the short few runs I did with it. I opted to leave mine in place. I also transport precious cargo (5 year old and 1.5 year old). Don't want any yucky fumes in the cab.

Did you add the CAI/exhaust before or after OVTune? Had the CAI/exhaust combo on last truck and didn't see much of a difference in power. Wondering if the OVTune allows the truck to take advantage of the CAI/exhaust more than the stock ECU.

Not sure I follow you on this. Please explain... How exactly would engine fumes get into the cab without this filter?

It has something to do with the filter absorbing fumes that come from the engine backflow air or something like that. I'm not completely certain if it's strictly an emissions thing or if it has to also do with odor/fumes suppression. Regardless, it's design to absorb fumes. That reason and the fact that I didn't notice any performance increase is why I opted to leave it along.

I’ve had the TRD CAI & Catback for awhile now. I have noticed a difference in performance and mileage (better) compared to stock. This should have been a stock item on the TRD Sport! Now I need a short shifter, but not sure about URD.

I did the exhaust and Cai before I did the OVTune. I noticed that the motor felt like it was a little bit smoother than before the cai. The exhaust really made a big difference in performance, I did a magna flow cat back. I had the change out the muffler cause it was way too loud. It's still too loud for me bit at least it's manageable. The exhaust is the only mod I regret. When I have some extra money I am going to get a stock exhaust and sell the magna flow. I am 50 years old and loudness in the cab is really unpleasant.

I thought about the exhaust loudness and potential drone on the cab. I’m older
Than you and don’t need the loudness, just performance. I found the TRD catback to be a nice sound with no droning in the cab. I cruise at 2500-3000 rpm and the sound level is just fine. Have a great day.

I was trying to go the TRD intake flow accelerator and HPS intake hose route but noticed the HPS intake hose is out of stock. I emailed HPS to ask when it would be available again and this is the reply I got:

    "Thanks for your inquiry.
We are working on a revision and it will not be released in the next 2-3 months.

    Best regards,

    Fax: 866-277-5441"

Anybody in the know have any idea what the revision could be?

    Update:

"The revised silicone intake hose will have a better fitment to cover the latest year model as well (such as 2019 model)."

I am going to stick my neck out and say that the charcoal filter is there to absorb Hydrocarbon emissions and prevent them from entering the atmosphere. It is there to meet EPA Federal emissions mandates.

Just sayin.... these additional cosmetic bits complete the engine bay that was originally centered around the TRD Intake box.
