The first thing I did when I got my truck home was to remove the TuRD stickers from the bed. Gazoo is not much better. This is when The Flintstones jumped the shark.

SR5 4WD or 2WD? Engine may not have the same factory tune.

I have an sr5 4wd. Very strange why the trd, or for that matter any 4wd v6 3.5 auto trim would not use all the same factory tune.

Maybe 60. I saw a good video on how to replace my ice maker and the fab fours rear bumper install is an absolute must and not just the tips on how to install the bumper if you know what I mean. ;););)

It will help you a lot. Most folks are doing back flips after their first, short drive.

Generally, about $250, but different folks off different things and different levels of support. Be sure to state what you expect and ask questions.

I find this interesting...I spend three years in the UK. Biggest question from British motor heads was "can you get me a 5.0 Mustang or a Tacoma?" They hated the Hilux, really all non US trucks. The rest of the world loves our cool shit just as much as we love their shit. It's all about exclusivity...grass is always greener!

I'd kill for a 79 series that isn't ridiculously priced from imported

I'd kill for a clean Defender 130 that isn't ridiculously priced. I knew a guy who imported a GM diesel and Allison transmission to put in his D110. Hated all Euro V8s and tiny diesels.

High residual value = lower monthly payments during the lease
Meanwhile, the world's second largest automaker is Volkswagen AG or VAG for short.

You can't be serious?...transmission is fine and to forever pay for something that's never going to be yours...whatever turns your crank ...

Fuck me man, I've seen you around here for the last couple years here and there and always pondered what your seemingly random string of numbers and digits could mean; was it something personal or related to a location maybe it was an acronym of sorts for something and I literally just figured it out.

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
Worst transmission of any vehicle I've ever owned. And I've owned everything from a stripped-out Jeep Wrangler to a BMW335i.

Regardless, I don't care how perfect or imperfect a vehicle is. After 5-6 years I'm ready for something else. So the idea of paying something off and keeping it for 10-15 years is lost on me.

Glad you're more financially responsible than I am. But with two stable sources of income, a low mortgage, no credit card debt and just the one $250 truck lease, I think my wife and I are doing okay.

EDIT: Not to mention the 11-page thread here about what's gone wrong with peoples' Tacos. It's comforting to know I'll never have to pay for an out-of-warranty repair on mine, pay for expensive regular maintenance, new battery, buy a new set of tires, etc. since I'm giving mine back in 3 years.

    Once again, YMMV.

I'd have to agree, i can't find a single fault with the transmission in this vehicle...it works with the engine very well.

Lease = Long-term rental. In my area a lease is what some people do in order to get into a vehicle they couldn’t otherwise afford. YMMV
