I was just in the dealership this week to get a recall done and oil change, etc. While I was there I asked for a quote on what it would be to install the TRD lift kit, without the grill; just the suspension.

    $2,200 - Parts
$1,100 - Labor (they claimed it was a 7 hour job)

    GTFOH!! :rofl::censored:

They then tried to get me to install an aftermarket lift and have them install it. No thanks.

I guess I don't know how much stuff costs. It just seemed steep to me. I have seen some dealership pricing online as low as $1,299.

Quote for OEM Lift I got from Toyota in Dover, Delaware was $1850 installed.

I'll be going a different route so the expense will be significantly higher. Doh!!!

$3300 for a $330 lift at the dealer? Sounds about right.

People complained there was no oem lift.

People now complain its too expensive. (tss function, warranty applicable and road laws abiding)

    This!

Add to that, many service writers (and other sales folks) are tuned to their customers. The more demanding they are,,, the more they pay. Not saying the OP is high maintenance, just another factor to consider.

I give massive breaks to loyal customers. Or alternatives, like suggesting a simple 5100 lift in this scenario.

Fleet/insurance/or dickheads? Full bore. Saddle up.

They're off their effin rocker, charging $2200 for a kit that's advertised by Toyota at $1750.

The labor, on the other hand, is about right at 7 hours pay. R&I 4 shocks (including swapping your springs and top hats on both front shocks), installing 1" blocks in rear, longer rear brake hoses, grille + new radar sensor...then bleed brakes, tire alignment, headlight alignment, TSS calibration. $1100 across 7 hours is $157-ish/hr, sounds about normal going rate for dealerships these days.

All the dealers in my area quoted $3000 - $4000

You can get the kit for about 1200-1500 on ebay. But labor is about 700-1500 through a dealership I recon.

I didn't mind the 2400 price point. There arent good reputable offroad shops in my immediate area and I'm not mechanically inclined to do it myself. So I paid for convenience and assurance that nothing would get fucked up to cost me more money later

    Oh look, another mod....
That sounds kind of cheap. My local dealer quoted me: An arm, 2 legs, my first born and said I had to sleep with 'em!

    ...I may do it!

If I could find a dealer to do it for $2400 I would go for it. But I can’t.
