Hell Bros, new person on the forum here,

recently picked up a taco and found this forum, so I figured I could ask my question here. What is the biggest tire size or most aggressive looking tire size I can install on a TRD Pro Lift kit? I would like to avoid shaving anything off in the wheel well, but I understand if some is needed. I appreciate your time for reading. Thank You.

    Absolutely positively ZERO rub? 265/65/18.

These dudes installed TRD Pro 4Runner wheels wrapped in 285/70/17 tires utilizing the TRD lift kit. The OEM lift is only 2” up front which means you won’t clear a 33” without some sort of rub.

What’s your wheel size? That would help us.

I’m partial to recommend skinnies. Such as 255/85/16 (255/80/17), a true 33” albeit skinnier to help with rubbing. There’s also 235/85/16 which is a skinny version of 265/75/16; furthermore, a 265/75/16 would be the same diameter and width of the tire size (265/65/18) that ALI3N mentioned, but more sidewall (better ride quality).

Do you think wheels spacers would help?

If you’re into a bit of trimming 285s look awesome on these trucks. It’s pretty easy to fit them.

    4 run, 2 don't
Lifts don't provide clearance for larger tires.

    Look into a CMC.

Lot of bad info here. Lift kits don’t help you clear larger tires at all. Fitment depends more on alignment, and wheel backspacing due to the cab mount. Most people require it to be chopped off. Wheel spacers generally creat more fitment issues.

I recommend doing a search here on the forum. This question has been discussed thousands of times. If you don’t want rubbing or trimming then stick with the factory size.

Saying that suspension lifts don’t help clear tires AT ALL is inappropriate. Obviously, it’s not the golden key, but they still help. This is proven by the fact that you’re going to be hard pressed to fit 33s on stock suspension, but can do it without a ton of work after you lift.

Look at your trucks suspension components, consider the geometry.

    Then read what you said.

“Fitting” the tire in general, versus actually fitting with no issues are different things. I understand the geometry of the suspension. I understand that you need more space to fully clear the tire. It’s a simple fact that suspension lifts HELP; I’m not saying they’re the magic fix and that you can fit any size tire with a suspension lift alone.

If suspension lifts provided literally zero help with tires, they wouldn’t be so popular. If suspension lifts truly did nothing, why do so many of us have them?

I put the TRD Lift on my 2016. Went with the 4Runner Pro Wheels and 275/70/17 BF Goodriches. They were expensive, but I need 10plys where I'm at.

Suspension lift will only “help” clear larger tires of you don’t cycle your suspension.

The Duratrac is the most aggressive thread out there. Dont take my word for it, go see for yourself.

It is the closest to an M/T thread, but with better on-road characteristics. Even offers the best rim protection

This is correct! I have a set and they wear and run good. Not the quietest, but good tires.
