A spring is what normally breaks and the sound at the blower will have a louder rattle at idle. The boost will build up normal but will have a slight lag. The solid coupler seems to be the popular replacement

Sounds like a box of rocks, not the best feeling I'll tell you. But a rather simple and more reliable fix.

Tossing this out to the field. Will a 2010 ECU fit my 2013 or does the later 2nd gen have some differences? Have an offer for an ECU with TRD flash on it but its for a 2010. Both are AT.

Yeah I got the shit to do it when it’s time. Everyday I’m leaning something new to do to this thing......except self tunning.

That's where I'm at as well. I draw the line at self tuning because I already got so much other crap on my mind, chances are good that everything that I will learn I will forget anyways.

Hand painted my 7th injector housing this weekend using some extra touch up paint i had sitting around. Also scrubbed RTV off the blower for about an hour, but thats not nearly as exciting:D

It's the little things in life that matter! I like it. Very nice man.

On my side of news I washed my truck for the first time in 365 days with my new pressure washer yesterday. It literally wiped out ALL the deep settled in dirt after a few good soap downs per panel, I didn't know my paintjob still was as good as it is. It almost feels so smooth I could mistake it for a truck that has been claybar'ed. :) Not bad for a 7 year old truck that sits out in the sun all day, everyday!

Thanks buddy! I agree, it's the little touches that make things come together. Now i wants red everything though lol

Thats awesome, wish i had a pressure washer. The last one i had didnt last 3-4 years and the pump went out bc our water is so hard here. Clogged it all up i guess. I just go by the self wash after i wash and wax it and that helps keep things clean for a few weeks at a time. A good wax goes a long way, i recommend doing yours at least a couple times a year, especially since your truck is dark, and always outside like you said

Just remember, less is more when it comes to the touches of color inside the engine bay. ;)

Yeah it's just a pain in the rear to wash in the summer because the water literally dries so fast and winter months it seems like it is pointless.

I stopped caring for the paint as much as I did when it was new, I got some dents and stuff that I'd like to pop out of it including one in the rear bumper which I feel started to demotivate me from caring for it, so once I do that I will probably restore some pride of ownership in the paint job. Hahaha.

You need to match part numbers. IIRC 2013 and 2014 match but no other years. Even the 2012 and 2015s are a different part number from the 2013 and 2014

@12TRDTacoma Dude I went to a detail place in Fairfield to get my truck cleaned for the first time in like...a year and a half or so, other than a random self wash here and there. Got the full interior wipe down and a good detail outside....truck looked AMAZING. Definitely spurred me to want to paint the fenders finally lol. And then I ordered new front glass and am getting it painted lol. I really need to go get a full claybar/polish/wax, but im going to wait until I've got all the fenders painted.

In terms of cleaning and detailing, I use a lot of “Chemical Guys” products. Usually get the shit from Amazon but now some of the products are being sold at the local parts stores. Good quality spray waxes and detail sprays......

Yeah I was incredibly impressed with the outcome of the wash!

Looks like we still got some miles left on our paintjobs after all. :)
