TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Seriously.

Air pumps have been around since the inception of emission controls back in the 70s. By now ALL of these manufacturers know how to design or make a properly functioning air pump system on vehicles and despite this they still somehow find a way to install one of the most rinkety pieces of garbage and poorly made setups I have ever seen on a vehicle.

 

When Toyota America engineers took the term reverse engineering literally.....

I shipped mine to my work, everyone got to see what i was like on Christmas as an 8 year old.

 

it comes down to cost. if they can save 10 cents on each one. that will add up in the end. so they sell the contract to the lowest bidder.

 

No I know, but what they save in the short term bites them in the ass in the long run.

When are these manufacturers going to learn that cutting corners does not equal long term profits.

 

For all of you that have read about the issues or are currently having issues installing headers or motor mounts due to there just not being enough room to work.

Try removing this piece

Literally so much room for activities with it out.

 

That would sure make tubbing the inner fender easy for sure.

 

Forget tubbing, I’m leaving it out. Just need to fill in this section of firewall. And repeat on the drivers side

I am very performance oriented. Ya know, throwing a 120 lb tire/ wheel combo per corner really helps with acceleration and braking

Damn dude! I just removed a few head exhaust studs, and slid it in like she wanted it.

 

I heard a little baby oil goes a long way.

 

Oh I’m not doing either of those jobs. Just know those are common complaints and figured I’d post “advice” since I realized this mod gives plenty of room for whatever you want to do in the engine bay.

 

Makes turbo placement surprisingly easy as well.
