    0 degree timing is LOW pretty much anywhere, more so as rpms go up

    More timing is necessary overall as that is what times the ignition of the fuel as the piston reaches top dead center (TDC).

    It may be premium in the tank but old gas. Best to go to a busy station as they get fresh fuel more frequently.

    Throw a bottle of octane boost, maybe a bottle of Heet to remove any water in fuel tank, and top off with your usual premium.

    How much is left in the tank?

    siphoning out would be best by far but if not feasable use max strength dilution of octane boost and top off the tank. It may take a couple drive cycles for the ecu to optimize again (bring timing back).

    Okay sportsfans, I'm freaking out a wee bit. Installed my 2.85 today, and while it's on and flush, my set screw from the install tool is stuck in the shaft. It's a bit of a long story, but I know you need to have the screw with the hex facing out so that you can remove it but due to first-time doing it and having the tool explode on me half way through, I messed up the threads on that side and the only way to finish was to put it in the other way. Now, predictably, it's stuckIMG_0890.jpg .

    Here's my question: how big of an issue is it that it's stuck? Will it mess with the balance of the shaft while spinning at ridiculous RPMs and blow shit up? I know that at some point I'll need to pull the shaft and get it re-tapped; I'm just wondering if it's an immediate thing or something i can safely ride with for a bit. Thanks in advance, and yes I know that I'm an idiot....

    Thank you for having mercy and the reply. For the record, I was very deliberate with this, I guess the tool explosion coupled with the (maybe self-imposed) need to get it on quickly rattled me. Turns out that by the time it was on, the pulley was room temperature again; I'm wondering if the whole warming up bit is a little played up too much.

    Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
    What’s up devil?? Don’t worry about it. I screwed mine up as well. Just running a tap back through the shaft will be fine without having to remove it. If it were me, I would put the belt in place to hold the shaft in place and then use vice grips to lock onto the screw and twist it out. If you need I can check and find out the tap size for the shaft as well.

    Thanks battle, I tried that. Just chewed it up more. Do you know if the shaft is hollow all the way through? Last time I did maintenance I notice a hole on the backside of the shaft, but didn't check to see if it went all the way through. I'm thinking not cuz the screw bottomed out at some point when I was conducting rehearsals. You LGOP? StrikeMFHold.

    There is a quick disconnect fuel line right outside of the gas tank. You could use a jug and that line disconnected, feeding the engine, and pump it out into a container. Either by jumping out the fuel pump, or just continually cranking the engine. With the ignition key. That is a lot of fuel though.

    In the past, when switching to E85 from pump, I'd hijack the return line. Plumb it to a few gas cans and let the truck idle for a few and feed your lawn mower the crap gas.. Or some chump who is out of gas on the side of the road.. :eek:

    ^oh yeah. Was that the URD install tool as well? Mine grenaded after like 2 uses and URD was like OMG NO WAY(that sucks buy another one).

    I think someone on here made their own with better bolts n stuff.
