Gladly if the vehicle is at my location. It is difficult to get a perfect fitment from (non standard) truck dimensions unless I have the vehicle with me.

I bet that is a VERY loud system! I have heard one AFE system from @BassAckwards that we installed and it was crazy loud! It sounded great with no rasp (my y-pipe) but damn that thing was loud!

There are much quieter options out there that still flow really well.

Free?! Damn! I paid $60 each for the 5 or 6 I have bought from the local muffler shop.

In my y-pipe thread I have a pic of the big Magnaflow 12579 I cut open. With under 15k miles the packing was deteriorating. Its one of the reasons I looked for a takeoff oem option designed for our airflow requirements.

My multicore Borla XR1 have held up nicely. My only complaint is the tone change in different temperatures. 50 degrees out? Sounds great. 65 degrees out? Sounds like poop.

As for magnaflow, just buy the knockoff Chinaflow stuff. Likely the same factory.

Careful with that suggestion. I tried a Totalflow from Amazon, cut it open because I'm a nerd, and it was nowhere near Magnaflow quality and that IMO isn't saying much.
Borla makes good stuff but they are louder than I like.

Both are crap that you’ll likely take off in under 10k miles anyway. Just one is crap welded by under the table 5 year olds. Wouldn’t recommend either.

The multicore version is “supposed” to be one of their quieter offerings. Mine is pretty quiet. Could even whisper a conversation if you wanted.

And to add a bit more since I was falling asleep when I posted this last night:

I’ve ran it for about 2000 miles since install with only one complaint. It has a raspy sound under acceleration at sub 3000rpm, more noticeable when the truck has recently been started, and the exhaust isn’t quite up to temps yet. A resonator would probably fix this.

Doubtful. You would need to transition the exhaust from 2.5 to 3" at the muffler.

def a possible idea. Based on various feedback I was going to go 2.5 all the way back. Maybe some collectors at 3" but currently have a black widow 2.5" in/out. Planning to get that going with some new piping next couple weeks.

Any feedback on where on the exhaust or tips on how to route open it up? Any pictures are great. I have a reroute already but I do need to have him adjust or redo it since my BAMF skid rubs on it and get some annoying vibes/rattling and great time to pull and re do as much as I can from the Y pipe back.

in terms of the Y pipe where did folks open that up since for now I plan to retain the stock cats unless I can work in a JFR at some point. This will be a class muffler shop bent pipe so nothing too fancy.

Thanks for the idea. I was hoping to keep the system 2.5" but won't take much to do the 3" exit.

Wow - A lot of information on this thread and I'm looking for information that's probably here somewhere that I cannot find.

    1. I purchase a Magnuson Supercharger Kit
    2. I purchase HDTuners
    3. I install the kit.
    4. I do something with the ECU to get more or bigger fuel mapping table.
    5. I flash the ECU with the right tune.

So with Step 4 (in my example) what I'm missing is that if I want a bigger/more fuel mapping table, how do I get that?
Is it basically to get the dealer to flash it with the TRD Supercharger tune, and then follow up behind with the HDTuner's tune?
    Is there a DIY option?

You'll need to have the stock calibration converted to the TRD tune. The dealer can do that, or as an alternative, I can also flash the TRD Tune for you.

From there, you can buy your own MPVI2 and credits and tune the vehicle further, Or if you were to have me do the TRD tune, I can install a customized tune at the time I do the TRD flash eliminating the need for you to purchase the HPTuners MPVI2 if you wanted to keep the cost down yet still benefit from the additional tuning.

Don't mean to come off too "sales pitchy" just wanted to let you know that there were options out there. Some dealers refuse to flash the ECU's to TRD spec so knowing your options is a plus.

Good choice of mods, and you're in for some big smiles no doubt!

Also to get started you just need the TRD tune then you can map with HP tune later but you def need the TRD tune first.

I know you guys already know this. . . but the video added to post 1 are outstanding. I'm about to check the oil level since the snout area as was looks like a little "misting" around it, so I can see if I need to do anything. The videos did a great job of at least showing me what parts are inside the snout area.
