TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

That's crazy. A bad bypass will cause rich issues. Just when you think you've seen it all. Some of the boost bypass valves have been known to be bad right out of the box on these Magnusons so you may want to check that @nudavinci64

 

sounds correct. wont open when under load, over rich, compensating, running poor. worth looking at.

 

Check your PM's for toons!

When you can, get me a log of aproximately 2-3 min of idle (at operating temp) and a little cruise action. Want to verify your trims.

Use the latest channels file (attached here)

 

Yeah the fact they are white indicates the porcelain is either brand new, or in stellar condition. Nothing to worry about.

Right, because power enrichment (PE) is occurring based off of pedal input, not supercharger boost valve engagement.

That's the only problem with these blowers being an add on entirely. The fact that the boost valve is not electronic makes the whole supercharger "dumb" so to speak vs everything else which is PCM controlled.

- ~16 MPG on JustDSM S/C + 2.7" Pulley
- ~16 MPG on JustDSM S/C + Rev Hang Delete + 2.7" Pulley
- ~17 MPG on JustDSM S/C + Rev Hang Delete + 2.5" Pulley

how could I check that? I did adjust the bypass valve prior think it may not be adjusted enough? any sign to look for besides bad mpg?

Ok makes sense. should also be able to tell in my boost gauge? Goes from vacuum to boost easily.

 

that would be interesting considering it a bit that old for taco years. Would give me a reason to put my fuel rails in.

 

You tune Tundras?

The Tundra forum is...behind on the times. There’s maybe 1 guy that used HP Tuners and he has maybe 5 posts. Everyone else is still buying bully dog or OVTune.

 

He did the wife’s 4Runner. I’m sure a tundra could be in his wheel house
