    @SUMOTNK stopped by and took his truck for a spin to see how it felt in comparison. Not apples to apples but he is running 2.8 pulley with 35/10.5/17 kendas (idea of tire weight) I have 2.8 and 315/70/17. My truck is regeared to 4.56 and also has cam gear and injectors. Other major difference is fuel pump (he has his upgrade). If anything I felt it would have a bit more pep due to the regare but his felt much peppier and lighter so had me thinking brakes again.

    I know some people mentioned it but my first thought a few months back was the brakes. I am starting to debate it could be the front brakes or at least I need to rule it out. How much is acceptable brake drag it any? Its been awhile but last year I did swap in some wilwood calipers, had some issues with the bracket but I am wondering if the rotors was not 100% centers its cause some unnecessary drag. Pulled off the wheels earlier and you can hear a noticeable drag but cant recall how normal that is. ;

    How much have the pads and rotor worn? noticeable grooves/height differences? Checked your drums?

    Pad are almost new. Went on with the calipers last year in August/September. Rotors seem fine. I did reuse the rotors with the new calipers/pads but they prob had 5-8k on them max. I have not checked the drums but was on my I should prob check list. Have not messed with drums before so was not sure. Might be the time i say F it and toss on the rear disc setup sitting in the garage.

    If when you lift up the front wheel you can spin it by hand, even with a slight drag, then there’s no way that will cause it to lose 6 MPG.

    yah thats what I was thinking. The drug drives the wheel spins. its not like it wont move at all but the pads are sitting on the rotor so there is a notable drag. Figure check all this stuff before I start removing engine parts.

    At 68K there is no way in hell that your rear brakes are anywhere near bad.

    You really gotta check the stuff I highlighted earlier before you start replacing stuff blindly dude. That's only going to cost you time and money that you don't otherwise need to spend.
