I think water/meth will alter the efficiency island in our favor though.

i know right? I have a maggie and trd sticker for kick so no need on my end but that would be a far fetched way to try and sneak it by.

Hmm I always thought the green values are blower RPM.

Can I fit an M90 blower on my Goldwing? That would be fun!

    (6.5 crank / 3.0” blower) * 5600 RPM
    = 12,133 blower speed
    (6.5” crank / 2.8” blower) * 5600 RPM
    = 13,000 blower speed
    (6.5 crank / 2.7” blower) * 5600 RPM
    = 13,481 blower speed
    (6.5 crank / 2.5” blower) * 5600 RPM
    = 15,560 blower speed
    (6.5 crank / 2.3 blower) * 5600 RPM
    = 15,826 blower speed

Where does the stock 1GR make the most power? Seems like we’d want to land blower speed in the middle of the darkest efficiency island somewhere around where the engine itself is making the most power.

In the name of bolt-on, set it and forget it power, the 2.8-2.85" pulleys are about what we can get away with. Especially since you have to snout cut to go smaller. Sounds like TRD went with 3.0" for a little extra margin of safety.

You are right. I misread, so frago to my frago. Lol.

This is why I hate it when I get second guessed because then I get screwed up.

I deleted the latest post and left the original.

Do me a favor and edit or delete your last post to exclude what you quoted me on that way nobody reads it and gets the wrong info from it.

Thanks brother. Now I gotta go buy a brand new K050705RPM belt later. Napa here I come!

I ran a log for Justin the other day on my way in to report and I forgot to hook up the intercooler after my base reflash so I sent him a bad log. Despite that he said the log looked so much cleaner than previous versions so that tells me that the larger pulleys while allowing the blower to breathe to get into target PSI ranges is the way to go. The chart definitely confirms that.

I may wind up coming out to TX sooner than expected so I'll keep you updated as that changes.

The 1GR is a mid to high range power maker in OE configuration. Obviously once you start making the exhaust too large or change its routing in a way where the equality of both lengths of runners into the Y do not favor the 120* it is optimized for, the powerband range will move lower (correct me if I'm wrong). Cam gears also alter the power band at 2500 RPM powerband kick in vs. the 3000- 3200 range it starts at in OE configuration.

Let's figure this one out together my mad scientists!

I'm finally getting around to replacing the hose.
I noticed the coolant in the radiator is pretty brown and not opaque at all, see below.
Truck has less than 40k on it and has had all services. Never checked the coolant color before, reservoir always had plenty in it and it was nice and clear pink.
A couple questions. Is this normal for a truck of this age, and should the installer have done a flush?
I am going to replace it for sure.

You're fine. Just drain as much as you can, run water through it and do it again if you want. Then once most of the water/ coolant mix has appeared to look more like water, replace with coolant and you're good to go.
