    From what it looks like on my end, it seems the fully forged motor w/ the Kelford valvetrain is going to require some knock sensor sensitivity adjustments. The motor is just a bit noisier than stock causing some false knock.

    Have you done any tuning on @mightytacoman 's truck with his Kelford camshafts?

    I noticed on mine with the Kelford cams, the same thing. They are much "noisier" than factory. Especially with the added lift and dual springs. They hit a lot harder. Thus inducing quite a bit more harmonics.

    Which areas of the rpm range did you notice the knock happening?

    Indeed, Justin and I noticed more knock or phantom knock with the built motor. Especially at shift points. At 1st we attributed it to me possibly forgetting to tighten something down during assembly which I couldn't find.
    Now that others are experiencing similar phenomena- I think its safer to assume it is a characteristic of the built motors.

    That or most pointedly the stiffer springs and cams.

    Good to hear about the Rutheniums.

    FWIW, less restrictive exhaust and lower boost usually point to lower horsepower, but higher torque.

    There’s suspect areas around 4K-5K, but the real noise seems to be at 5K+.

    Well hell. I wonder if my UCon will detect knock and hold things back in that case. Do you guys know if after-market knock sensing will filter out this noise? Is anyone else here using Kelford cams and springs with UCon? If so, any issues?

    So far the truck is running well, aside from some indicators that an injector is slightly busted.

    I hate to say this but I wouldnt install that with an exhaust running underneath it for two reasons:

    1 The aluminum will may induce heat from the exhaust while stopped or slow speeds.

    2. The aftermarket pan looks to be a couple inches taller than stock so if even if we made a custom y-pipe, it would hang significantly lower than the crossmembers.

    I'll take the 17.0mpg avg anyday.... but you can keep the 213F H20 temp and 222F trans temp.

    This weekend is a scorcher temp-wise for CA standards......is that what's causing the higher than normal water/trans temps? Or were you towing or found yourself in Mexico and now letting it cool off on the side of a road?

    The truth is you will find this issue with many if not every other manufacturer out there as far as trucks are concerned. GM is no stranger to high transmission temperatures and the trannys ultimately fail early due to high heat and shitty inferior metal and material usage issues.

    As far as those temps go Anthony, if you weren't towing check your intercooler pump and make sure it is on and working.

    Don’t be fooled, I had recently filled up. The temps went up to 221 engine, 230 trans just chillin
    No I was driving normal and then I went through the chik fil a drive through. Obviously I was asking too much of the truck.

    Intercooler is working. I was in a drive through. I think I am gonna get a duramax.

    man I feel your pain. My truck does TERRIBLE on temps when I am stationary since moving to Texas. The heat is just too much for the truck to cool itself.
