    So u have a screw broken off in the snout of the pulley?

    had this happen and used left handed drill bits to get it out. Had no issues with the thread.

    I still need to look into what my overall endgame will be. Currently, I think 2.8 provides enough boost for what I'm looking to dive into.

    Seriously, though, I thought the same thing when I started out. Then, I decided cutting the snout and installing a quick change hub would posture me for possible future upgrades, WITHOUT having to use a pulley puller again. Very happy I did, since it makes migrating down so much quicker and easier. The moral of my story is do it once in a way that gives you options - cut the snout and install the quick change hub with a 2.8" pulley.

    You have a point, but I can still install the QC pulley and the 2.8 and always cut at a later time..

    Go this route. Most of us have already pioneered removing the stock pulley, installing an aftermarket pulley then removing that one for a quick change lol. The second aluminum pulley was a huge son of a bitch to remove.

    IMO, easier to do the "hard stuff" all at the same time, making future changes a matter of minutes. Obviously, YMMV.

    Definitely don't want to do it that way!

    Someone repost a picture of that red super-mangled piece of aluminum formerly known as a 2.825 supergrip pulley that someone had fun pulling off. It really should go on page one as a deterrent.

    Stock came off nice for me. Had to use THE FORCE though.

    Second one was butchered. That aluminum just folded under the puller and surgery was involved. I threw it away but now I wish I made a trophy out of it.

    If you can find me the picture I will toss it up on page 1 for the reason you highlighted.

    I'll join the brotherhood. Had a 2.8 stealth pulley that was bad or something, anyway, before installing the blower I had to already perform surgery at the snout, broke a bolt in the snout twice and then had to wind up taking a Dremel to it because it was so mangled and destroyed to high hell.

    Valuable lessons were learned here. Sought for a better option to all the hot garbage that was on the market after pressing in another pulley and eventually wound up finding and making the qwikchange pulley setup a household name in the 2nd gen Tacoma blower community, this thread followed suit shortly after that due to wanting to share knowledge and here we are today. One of the most active threads filled with so many knowledgeable dudes under this thread. :thumbsup:
