Not boost related.. but figured this group wouldn't mind.

Blew a coolant line on my 86 pickup with a 22r. Been trying to track down the Union I need to replace my corroded one with. All the part numbers are an updated 90 degree union.. that would require me to take apart the entire top end just for this fitting. I was able to get the old, straight one off with a deep socket in 5 minutes. Install of a new straight Union would be the same. Ive tried multiple local parts stores, multiple online stores and even speciality online stores. They all send the updated part number, even if it's listed under the old, original one. I've even tried other toyota vehicles/part numbers.

So... Time to make my own. Modeled it over the weekend, left out the Metric NPT threads as it's easier to do at the machine. Billet of course.

I forgot to mention tho... We actually might be getting some boost related work. Local Performance shop brought in a cast intake manifold and cast intake body they want us to finish. Prototype to adapt an existing blower to the new NSX. Very little info right now.. still in quoting process.

That's awesome!! If I didn't already have my e-fan and new radiator, I would totally be on this.

Only thing would be the price. I mean, I do understand that's what you pay for a well-designed item, so there is that. Not saying my setup is better when I say this, but my entire e-fan setup including radiator was only a little more than the price of this. Canadian exchange rate really sucks.

Its the design and fab cost compared to the DYI cost. If someone made it for you you can imagine it would be more. For me this is one thing I do not want to mess with on a DYI so someone that has has experience fixing cooling issues im all for it. The cost is a lot higher then what he expected. He was shooting for 600 or so but i guess it ended up being more.

This setup is modified for the Taco using GM parts (the fan) and the controller is built for a race Corvette using a Lingenfelter fan controller.

Lingenfelter is top notch stuff man. Very few brands exist out there which can go toe to toe with the controller. The system is capable of up to 834 watts output which is more than any Taco or even Corvette will ever need. (The Vettes using these setups are rigged to use 600 watts max which is overkill for their 6.x V8's.

I'm not a big proponent of GM as you know, but when implemented correctly and not using wiring directly supplied by GM which runs along the actual engine these should be an excellent setup. The cost of R&D eats up some of the savings you would otherwise have. This is a fully custom setup made specific for us.

I wouldn't post up this setup if I didn't think it was well built and reliable. Something not very synonymous with forced induction applications as we all know. (Maybe the well built part yes)

I think for me just the fact someone has already done the hard work I don’t mind paying for it. I know if I was required to figure it out I just don’t have the time to currently.

That is exactly the boat I'm in.

Considering that this is the only kit currently available for the Taco outside of the Flex-a-lite E-Fan which is not known to be reliable I'll gladly pay the cost for this anyday albeit being pricey.

Decided to make this critter today. Hopefully adjusting the bypass valve will be much easier now!

I just did it with a small Allen key and my hand. :notsure: I guess it's just one of those situations where everyone can just do it just like that.

Someone here called me Gumby once so, maybe there is some truth to that. Hahaha.

For anyone running e fans I’m guessing it also helps a lot for the AC at idle right?

That would be correct, and that is 1000% the reason why I got this setup. I'm really sick of the summer time misery under the heat.

It is a bit more than I was expecting not saying it's not worth it, the most expensive parts are the mounts and the controller id say. Its either two efans or a lsd for the taco. Hmmm.....

This 18" efan setup is supposed to have more output then 2 smaller e fans. it was more than he event quoted he thought it would be. But for at least us CA folks no tax on this group so that saves some coin too.
