Yeah the heat shields suck. I wish they were made just a hair better because they just are not made as good as they should be.

For as small as they are and little that they cover, do you think taking them off is a big deal?

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I would replace them with adhesive fiberglass firewall material. It makes a difference. And not just a little patch, I would cover the arch that they shield from heat.

i just bought 12sq/ft to recover a firewall for a diesel swap and it works great. Fairly inexpensive off Amazon as well. Because of its orientation I would use some acetone to clean the backside of the truck well before sticking. I would probably even use some additional caulk like “The Right Stuff” to ensure it seats well since the adhesive is quite thin. Do not apply in anything under 70 degree weather or it will fall right down. Otherwise use a heat gun to help out with the process.

Well, after two weeks away I am both happy and disappointed that there were only around 5 pages to catch up on...

To those that may remember my cold start misfire issues - it looks like the Ucon was the source of the problem. Running Justin's tune and no Ucon, I have had clean starts everyday this week with temps dropping into the mid 40s over night. Still sounds a little rough, but no obvious misfires and no CELs. Thanks to everyone that made the recommendation to pull the ucon and try without it. Definitely going to let Scott and Gadget know.

So I have almost complete lack of fire wall. Most of it fell off when the truck was submerged. While we're on the subject. What is the benefit of adding some back in?

I have a TRD supercharger installed by Toyota.
Then the hood was swapped for one with a scoop, so the stickers are on the old hood - long gone.

How/where can I get the CARB sticker, premium fuel, and belt routing diagram stickers?

Does anyone know if the FJ stickers from the Magnuson fit kit are the same belt routing and everything as the TRD kit?

I may have my friend take photos of his recently installed Magnuson supercharger on his 2010 FJ and then have reproductions made -altering any CARB codes I need to match the TRD one.

Toyota Parts can get you new ones. Magnuson has the routing and fuel ones.

URD has them for the FJ cruiser. Not sure if they're the same but it might be worth looking into

you can get everything but the carb sticker for the most part. If you have a Magnuson its tied to your serial but you can get a toyota one by going to the parts counter. Its not easy to just order but they should be able to get them. Thats how many of us got a spare.
