But if I did loose another rear end? Who really won? It was either that or towing the camper last week to elk camp and back. Wonder if maybe there is enough pressure on it that the axle is deforming just enough to not help the ring and pinion mesh correctly.

    Got almost 125K miles and thinking whether to get a new rack and pinion? Can anybody attest better handling afterwards. I obviously don’t drive off road but want tighter handling on the curves. :D

    If no leaks then I wouldn't. Could check the bushings and the tie rod joints for play. There are other options to improve handling.

    So a power steering flush and some energy bushings is just as good as a new one?

    Have a small leak at my boots on the R&P. Dropping the stance helped with handling but I really want some high end coil-overs. But finding a good brand that will fit and not rub my transfer case axles is the trick. What coilovers your running? @Lucario Runner

    Hmm, I guess it depends on how far you wanna go, you could rebuild your oem or get a new one ($500-600) I personally would buy a new oem, build it to my spec and install it and rebuild the old and store it. My tacoma runs the bilstein 6112 one the lowest setting but I will make a revision on the driver side by rising it up one to be level and upgrading to 650 springs due to, imo, too much brake dive for my liking and off set the weight of the supercharger. Later down the road I'll prob get the bilstein 8112 zone control when I can confirm that it'll work with bigger sway bars. other than that on the taco it'll probably get camburg uca and dirt king lca. spindle gusset most likely pending clearance. on the rear the frame will be boxed, rear sway bar and a lateral control arm will be added. For you I would look into some different wheels (20x10-11, squared or staggered) and tires 40 profile or 35.

    I though heavily about how to use my coilovers and the cv-shafts.

    What coilovers do the GMC Cyclone use?

    Getting lower control arms with the extra tab, and the added strut mount behind the normal shock tower are the simplest. Should UCA clearance not be an issue.

    Ultimately, it will take some measurements and fabrications.

    What made you take out your transfer case axles? The transmission?

    Never looked before. Must be why the Syborg truck went coilover. Torsion bars make sense for room, but nowhere near adequate. Not when AWD Rally cars existed at the time.

    Transmission and coilovers. Had to. Never got the AWD transfer case for the T56 Magnum, so there hadn't been the strong push to figure it out.

    I wonder how much shorter the RAV 4 struts are? Or maybe adapting another car's which has the clearance.

    To strum up a little more debating. I brought this up in the appropriate thread and now the next best. What is your guys take on switching from the TRD blower to the new Procharger set up? Also, other than the upper and lower stock intakes being replaced and the stock coolant manifold spacer, what other parts do you think would need to go back to stock for the Procharger set up?/

    If it was out when I did mine I would have gone procharger but now that I have the Maggy I wouldn’t spend the money or effort to change. If I had the time and money to go for something else it would most likely be turbo
