Gotta really thank @Kelvin for the find and @BillDaCat8 for finding a heat range equal to substitute part on this. I was more a test mule along the process as I and billdacat installed them almost at the same time but they are a huge contributor to increasing overall mileage and what feels to be better performance across the board.

    Unicorn.

Does anyone have a pair of 1grfe valve covers for a good price? I wanna paint mine red. My issue is gonna be when I go to have the headers, cam gears, and plugs done, I’ll only have limited time to clean, degrease, prep, and paint ( 2-3 coats plus dry time ). I’m thinking I’ll get another set now and do it at my leisure and have them ready to go on as replacements when the work finally gets done. I can even send back my originals nice and clean to whomever sells me their spare set. Or. Are the 4.0 1gfre valve covers all the same for all the years they were offered? I did find a set for like 90 bucks on eBay for a 2006

If u get a second set, might as well just powder coat them. I used to have a second set but no idea whatever happened to them. Might if sold them with the old engine.

Later gen 2nd gen valve covers are different from early 2nd gen due to the air injection. If I am wrong someone intervene and correct me please.

I was most likely gonna get them powered but, I did see a couple YouTube videos with them using 3-4 coats of vht paint and a really good prep. I know powdering is a better result though

I was really intrigued by them advertising them for forced induction. Honestly thought they’d be some kind of witchcraft snake oil.

I wasn't sure what to think either but I was like eh what the hell. Why not give them a shot, especially since I was due for a swap shortly around the time Billdacat had to do his. I think I am due again though.

At the current exchange rate that’s still almost 89 years old. Impressive.

Nah that was pretty funny actually. Made me feel younger. Or something. 0.78 isn't nearly as bad as it used to be anyways. I remember 0.66.

And as we say in Canada, 'I'm so offended by that statement... Sorry about that.'

Rich fueling is still rich fueling despite the ignition source igniting it. Regardless of what sort of spark intensity you have there, if you are running rich at wide open throttle a lot of that fuel is going to make it's way out in the form of hydrocarbons right out of the tailpipe.

On my junk I run 11.5 AFR @ WOT.

I have been considering upping to 12.0 or 12.5 even @ WOT at the expense of some power. I'm really tired of fouling out plugs south of 15,000 miles.

Oh people still do it. I definitely still do.

Disney is full of crap. I like them, but they make it really hard sometimes. They like to take successful movies and shows and milk those corporate cows of all the cash they can generate until that cash cow is all dry then they move on to the next fad. Sometimes it's super obvious what they are doing.

Some things are best left alone, and either they don't seem to understand that or they just don't care.
