No sniffer. Just a plug in. Although I’ve heard that AZ has started visual inspections now.

Speaking of the long tubes; I wonder if their installation would be any easier without that pesky transmission thing in the way. Probably not.

Find a different shop. Or attempt to DIY. Do the cams need any special attention? Like a specific line hone for the head/cam caps or reason to rebuild? If you're going to go that far, rebuild most likely is referring to replacing the valve guide stem seals and may a valve angle jobber. You don't need spare heads to do this if you can afford the down time. Machine shops usually finish within a day if there are no hold ups. If you're relatively low miles just do the cam swap without the extras. I found it infinitely easier to remove the tensioner and do the timing chain at this time so I wasn't fighting trying to fit the chain, but that required removing the front cover obviously. As long as you remove and install the cams in sequence and work one side at at time so the chain doesn't drop, it may work out. But if memory serves correct, after the main chain is untensioned, you can wiggle the crank a few mm to work the chain off of the cam gears. (Btw I didn't take off the cam gears because it was a b*tch to remove the exhaust gear for the modified swap)

I am going to be passing this JFR y-pipe/exhaust combo along to one of the boosted brothers hopefully. I'd like one of you here to pick it up before I put it for sale in the general marketplace.

Please see loginfailed's post for the details.

Any interested parties please PM me so we can work out the logistics.

I saw that setup a few days ago and assumed it was gone already. I’m mildly interested.

I snagged it from @loginfailed. I did some prelim testing and got some of the data I was looking for. I was going to do some work with this setup (Keg Muffler) and a TRD exhaust section. But I'm content with the data I've collected and figure someone could use this in a more permanent fashion.

This thing certainly increases the rate of acceleration on my truck. Zero tuning changes.

    StockVsJFR.jpg

White line(s)/Bright Red are the JFR Ypipe & Keg Exhaust
Grey line(s)/Dark Red are stock Ypipe & Exhaust

All fitted to my N/A truck w/ aFe Intake, Cam Gears, and Spec-U headers.

I just installed the EL long tubes about a month ago. Super simple once you disconnect the steering shaft. And way easier than I thought it would be. Then again it’s my 3rd installation of headers on my truck

I’m sure it’s in this thread somewhere but I was wondering what’s been the experience for the fuel economy when adding the SC?
