New HO alternator I picked up has a 1.75" pulley but can't find a belt that is like 0.4 smaller. I guessed at the new needed size by doing this math(stock is 2" right?):

    ((2xπ)-(1.75xπ))/2 = 0.392699

Suggestions? This was the closest I could find K070825HD: https://www.gates.com/us/en/search.p.8555-000000-000000.v.8555-00250.html

I would assume that is way too small but stupid hard to find info on this topic.

What is the size bolt used to loosen the belt tensioner??? Just took the truck to the dealer for an oil change and got it washed. I was wiping out the engine bay afterwards in the parking lot and saw my s/c belt is mysteriously off the pulley by one rib

Awesome.....and don’t laugh, I’ve never messed with the belt before. I know it’s easy but once on the tensioner (looking from the top down) am I moving it left or right to break tension to then snug the belt back on the rib

pic to follow, just got home

I usually get it with my tensioner tool from the drivers coming from the bottom. You push down on the handle which should rotate the tensioner clockwise (from front of truck) and you can slip the belt back on.

@JuanitoBunito your hub appears to be on farther than mine. wonder if that played a part in the rib hop.

Interesting thing going on with my truck now. Fuel economy is in the toilet, like 10mpg and under last 3 tanks. And it doesn't want to start on the first turn after it sits for a few hours over for the last week. Takes about 3-5 tries to get it to fire. Or about 5-8 seconds if you just keep cranking. I don't like to do that. Going to check the ruthenium plugs first. Don't think that it the case as it has good AFR cruising down the highway when the vacuum is 10 or greater. Less than 10 obviously is a bit richer. On the passenger bank.........on the drivers side, who knows. Almost wondering if it is a leaky injector. It shouldn't be the case of the fuel pressure bleeding off as I do have the one way valve installed after the fuel filter. Seems to run fine other than poor mpg once it gets going. But the mpg could just be winter fuel and me having the rear end broke in now so I get to drive like I want. Any ideas of what I should check out first or have any other ideas?

I doubt it man. I’m under my hood constantly. I’ve never had any problems with this what so ever. A very reputable shop did the grinding and pulley install. I have complete faith in them. Plus I have the roosty pulley mod adding even more tension

i'd start by opening the oil filler cap and pulling the dipstick out and smelling it for fuel. If it smells of gas, you may be onto something with the leaky injector. How much vacuum do you see at idle? and does the truck build boost like it should? i remember a while back you had some trouble with the blower lid causing you issues too. Hopefully that's not back, but it might be a good place to look over

I was wondering the same thing.. Do you have any pictures from the passenger side looking down at the s/c pulley? I am curious what the belt looks like and if it is all lined up good. Mine is also pressed on just a scosche less than that like Jesse mentioned. I originally didn't press mine on far enough and it jumped off the other direction and broke the belt.
