@SUMOTNK who did your DT header setup? I’m debating full LT or equal or just do the shorty with factory cats. trucks choking and needs some breathing room

IIRC, it was a shop in santa clara called Sounds of Speed Performance. No website type of old school guys. But they did custom exhaust stuff and their skillset pertained to the job. It's been about 6yrs since they did the install and its still good to go.

Nice how much did that run back then? Is that the same spot you got the dyno?

The dyno place is DeLeon Dyno Performance. Not the same place, but probably 5 minutes from each other.

IIRC, I paid around $500 labor to r&r the manifolds, and cut/weld the stock cats to manifolds. Without knowledge on how to weld, I want to leave this job to the pros in case there was alignment issues (leaks) with the manifold to y-pipe or clearance issues post-install from the engine torquing, etc. I didn't want to deal with those headaches. In retrospect, the install price wasn't cheap but it was one of the only options to remain CARB legal.

Just for the record, that 1.98” ID gasket does NOT fit well for that connection at the exhaust.

Having installed one of these about a year-and-a-half ago, I can confirm it's a great product! One of the best engineered/constructed mods I've done - outstanding workmanship and simple plug & play install! It also co-exists nicely with Locker Anytime Mod for Dummies 2005 +. Highly recommended!

I can't leave anything well enough alone
I also have a 2lo module, love it. I have auto trans, but still like getting into low for some of the trails and roads, where it just seems like the truck is happier being in low range, yet I don't need the full traction of 4wd, and it certainly turns better when the front isn't engaged. I could understand loving it even more so if you have a manual trans, with that tall reverse gear...

Does this give you both transmission temperatures?

Also, I saw that you can program two functions to eat steering wheel button. Do you know whether that could be used to control a front camera (with compatible head units) like with the Car Solutions model?

Thanks! I’ve been searching for this and haven’t been able to find a clear answer on the temps.

WTBorrow: Anyone have a set of 1GRFE valve covers that I can "borrow" on an exchange basis? I would like to powdercoat a set and have it ready for the cam gear install.

PM me to work out details for the exchange. Thanks

So a few weeks back I threw the P0420 code. For a bad cat. I erased it with my scanner and drove the truck for long periods including idle time to fully erase it from the computer. A week and a half later it came back. I have to say that when all this happened it was sub zero out. We were going through a very cold spell here in the Midwest.
So like I said the code came back and I just left it. Today, it is much warmer. It’s 40 degrees right now. On the way into the firehouse this morning I noticed I had no lights in the dash. Could it be that I threw the bad cat code just because it was fridged ass cold outside??

Well, that is a code for cat efficiency and cats need to be hot to work properly. So I guess it’s a possibility that if your cats are marginal, and it’s uncharacteristically cold out that could have an effect.

I have a ‘07 and I’ve had 3 factory cats give me the same code.
