I swear every time I cut out old work as I make changes I think to myself: “how the hell has that lasted 4-8 years of abuse” But hey that’s part of the learning process. Every project the precision and quality gets better and better.

when installing the double idler on the roush tensioner, do you have to cut the inner sleeve or do you let it ride with that much axial play?

Seems like it’s a bit too long when the pulley is shouldered up all the way against the stop on the bracket. Or is it not supposed to shoulder all the way to the back ?

You have to cut the sleeve, and then I would also add a washer so the bolt isnt riding against the bearing like you have it. I used a pipe cutter to trim my sleeve.

I’ve got a question for you guys that I’m sure has already been answered here. I’d search but honestly I’m too lazy or too busy building kits for everyone so if you could cut me some slack that would be greatly appreciated.

Anyways I’m curious what the correct MAF readings should be with the blower? I currently have a UMP intake and want to make sure the engine is getting enough air. I also moved the MAF closer to the throttle body (6” now) based off the factory location on a SC system I measured this morning.

The truck is going to get a custom dyno tune next week and I just want to make sure I’m in the ball park with the MAF before trying to reinvent the wheel with a custom tune.

    Thanks!

If you haven't changed your intake diameter at the maf sensor- your maf readings should be normal without the need to modify them.
If you have changed that diameter you can look at averages of your 4 fuels trims when in closed loop and adjust accordingly to try to get them to 0%.
In open loop conditions- you are looking at commanded afr and measured afr (measured hopefully with an aftermarket afr gauge kit not the factory sensors) And use that difference as a percentage to adjust your maf tables for correction.
Maf adjustment is a VERY small part of the tuning process.
One more thing- once you start making serious power- you'll quickly outflow the capability of the stock maf sensor when in a stock sized diameter tube. IIRC that's around 236g/s

Your comment about moving the MAF sensor. Is the picture of its location the current and accurate location? Or was that prior to you moving it?

If it is in that location, there is a potential for turbulence across it. Without a flow straightener. Data logs would show, with oscillations in the readings.

Tell me about your intercooler coolant routing... Are you sending that through its own radiator?

Looks like he just reverse flowed the exchanger in the plenum so the reservoir could be relocated.

Isnt the reservoir supposed to be the highest point in the system to keep air pockets to a minimum?
