Thanks man!! I saw Doc post that in the other thread you started and plan on getting that controller for whatever setup I decide on. That website gave me a headache trying to navigate

 

His setup is better than mine. I have not invested in that but doesn't mean that I don't want to. Far better than just "ON" at a specific temp.

 

With Phoenix being what it is, the cool down function sounds really nice to have as well.

 

My mishimoto fan controller is wired to the cig lighter fuse, I think. Will continue to run if Temps are high after car is off, which is nice. Else in the summer I can come back to hotter Temps than before I shut it off

 

I have the HF-125 and it is a solid unit.

I recommend to put the temp sensor in the lower radiator hose to get the most performance out of your radiator. There is always debate about sensor placement, so someone reading this will come along and bust in like the Koolaid man and tell me I'm wrong and that the temp sensor in the upper radiator hose is better.

For full speed fan activation when A/C is on, easiest is to add his IceBox module ($75 shipped I think) that takes the intermittent pulses from the compressor clutch relay and creates a constant output. That way the cooling fan will stay on constantly when the A/C is in use, rather than constantly ramping up and down between compressor cycles. The IceBox isnt always listed on his site. When I bought mine it was the last one he had, so you might have to email him about it.

Yes, his website is garbage for real, haha. He is very responsive to emails and phone calls. Even called me back on a Sunday. Good service.

 

Agreed, the website is not easy to use. And definitely get the high frequency drive for Spal fans! I put a port on both sides of the radiator for the sensor, just in case I changed my mind on location. Lots of justification both ways for sending unit location. I wouldn’t go so far as to say the autocoolguy controller is the absolute hands down best controller, but it literally does everything that everyone wants. If he put the timing really function on the a/c input, it would be ideal. Plus one for the icebox. At the time it was the same price as a standard timing relay and had the added bonus of a light when latched.

 

I should also note that I do have a No Buzz controller I can part with on the cheap. I won’t sell it to you if you’re using a spal fan, you would need the High Frequency drive for that. However, if you have a standard fan(s) it will work great.
