I know your video was for noises, but all I see are sleepy gauges....What's up with that? :boink:

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
Electrical is the last part. Waiting patiently for the wiring guru shaman to host an ayahuasca session at JD. (apparently this guy is hella good). Timing got all messed up with part delays. It'll get sorted here very soon. Harry massaged a sweet bracket for the steering column into place after we decided not to put a bunch of gauges on the pillar. Just say NO to brodozer.

Was that the Craven Speed dual gauge steering column bracket, or another brand?

I had the dual pillar pod in my earlier boosted days. For what ever the reason, with my seating position and state stickers, it created a large blind spot. As cool as it was for tempting the occasional revving street racer, using the Force for precise line placement when road course racing wasn't working out to well for me. Need to focus more in the meantime I guess.

Onto steering gauge pods it was. Those with the Ultragauge show most everything necessary anyhow. Haltech handles the others.

All I read was the words Shaman and Ayahuasca in the morning when I woke up and I was about to say, "damn dude, are you part of the Sacred Sons?" I had to re-read it all a few times until I came to and finally realized what you were saying.

I wish I had another 100hp and if the procharger did that it would be hard to argue but I've been happy with it and i couldn't beat the price.

Magnuson ordered w/o the tune. I'm planning on the HPTune and will likely be upgrading the fuel pump. It's going on a vehicle with a stock drivetrain and no other engine performance mods.

After a regear next year I'll start looking at options for supporting mods but I'm looking forward to some boost in the coming months.

Opening up the airflow is the best move you can make for these blowers on these engines. Have a ball. The journey to more power is a fun and if done right, a methodical one. the group is here to answer any questions you have outside of what's already on page 1. :)

Thanks. This thread has been helpful but there are a lot of pages to sift through. Coming from a FI vehicle with larger turbos, fueling, and a tune, I've been wanting to do this since purchasing the truck 8 years ago but cancer and kids have pushed that out until now.

I'm hoping to hold off on a fuel pump until the spring if possible but I guess that'll depend on what I'm seeing for AFR. Not planning on wringing out every bit of power and going for crazy numbers but, from what I've read, the factory fuel pump seems to be maxed out with the blower and a mild tune.

Let's get one footnote out of the way first... Fuck cancer. I'm glad you are in a better place now.

Getting that out of the way, anything short of mods past the blower and the initial tune for it should require a fuel pump, not everyone does it and it's tempting fate to be honest.

Agreed but also when you get your tune adjusted you can see how its treating you. I have it ready to go in but logs showed the fuel pump was still working fine but its only a matter of time.

@stickyTaco you will be good to go and install it a few months down the line (fuel pump). I am still running mine and its been a year just been too lazy to install it.

    and second Fuck Cancer!

Got some work done in the new engine. Got the cam gears installed, fuel rail installed, ruthenium spark plugs installed, valve covers installed, new valve cover gaskets

The tensioner bolts got torqued and blue loctite.

The heads don’t like near as clean as old engine. Guessing it’s from engine sitting with old oil for a while but didn’t see any wear on the cams.

I will be pulling the oil pans and resealing them just for peace of mine and to see how dirty they are.

Tomorrow, will put the pulleys on, new water pump, Clutch and flywheel, headers, motor mounts, dip stick, and do all the water neck/thermostat housing. Saturday should be installing the thing.

The valve covers are a little worn. Got marks all over them and some black paint overspray. Tried to get them cleaned up as much as I could. After I get everything on, I’m going to wash the engine. Got some sludge/dirt on the outside.

You already painted them red though didn't you?

Those are easy enough to clean up. Some nice 120 grit sandpaper and some well invested sanding time and you can totally make those marks disappear like nothing ever happened.
