TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I have a URD TCAI and have had a similar code in the past, i think P0103 MAF sensor high voltage input. I always just reset it and keep trucking. It comes around once every few months on my truck.

 

This is what mine showed.

 

I think i've had that one before as well. it's never caused me any drivability issues, so i havent really dug into it any further. Mine is a 6spd like yours as well for reference

 

@JuanitoBunito when you reset them, do they come right back?

 

You guys are reaching the ceiling limit on what the MAF can handle at WOT due to the overall airflow the engine can move and the computer is catching it. The only way to increase the airflow ceiling to avoid that issue is to fab up an intake with a 3.25 or 3.5" MAF tube or do the T4R/ FJ intake conversion.

 

Spray some MAF cleaner on the MAF sensor bulb. Disconnect the battery for a minute. Make sure that MAF sensor is air tight to the intake tube. Should be good to go

 

I just did it and then ran an errand. Drove probably 5-6 miles or so….had the truck on about 15-20 minutes because I left it running while I ran inside ups. It (so far) has not returned.

 

……..yeah I ain’t fuckin doing that. Lol

 

Then you're going to keep coding when you do wide open throttle runs mijo. It's as simple as that.

 

Ahh alright that would explain the MAF high voltage P0103 i got that time. I still think i got the P0100 or P0101 as well at one point. Hasn't been back in a few months though

Meh……I never went wide open to begin with. I was just cruising on along at 35-40ish mph. So I don’t think I would’ve hit the ceiling of the maf….unless I’m missing something here.

 

Huh.. okay that changes things then. You may have a MAF that is either dirty or losing it's calibration then. Try cleaning it as mentioned and if it continues then you lost calibration and will need to replace it.

I had that and just code before I just replaced the mass air flow sensor.

 

What intake are you running? I wonder if the URD tcai caused this. I run it with the water proof sock/no shield. That injen sock is advertised to really block water and moisture. The couple videos I saw proved it. Furthermore, I haven’t been through a lot of water and definitely haven’t submerged my front end.

 

You mean like tube diameter sizing?

 

The trd intake gen 2. Since replacing the sensor the code has not came back.

 

when i had a urd tcai it would geek out occasionally. but other times id be in a downpour without sock or shield and it was fine.

 

That URD TCAI will have codes time to time. History proves it.
