There’s more to it than that. But I really think it’s wise to keep that kinda stuff off public forum as there are 3-Letter agencies actively working to take these tools away.

    PM me for MORE info..

I’m guessing maybe my crank bolt wasn’t tight enough and was rattling around. And over time the key way smashed the crank pulley enough to break it. What is y’all thoughts. Maybe I should replace the key way? I’m putting the stock crank pulley back on. That sucks man. I just might go tighten up my crank bolt for peace of mind.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
You can definitely see the key is deformed where it was taking the brunt of the force from the pulley. I for sure want to go walk through everything as well. A little dab of blue loctite ain’t always a bad thing I guess.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
I dunno how tight that pulley fit on the crank to begin with, but I'd guess not very tight. Was the bolt tight when you took it off? There is a reason the stock bolt is on so tight, relying on bolt torque for preventing rotation of the pulley isn't really that good of an idea. I think there should be more key engagement personally, but it is what it is and is fine with a steel pulley. Assuming the bolt was reasonably tight, then the issue is too soft of a pulley. This is the aluminum one, right? Design flaw... too soft. Pulley couldn't keep up with the forces with such small engagement of the key.

Steel pulley and torque as tight as you can get it is the answer.

Design is the same as OEM with a steel liner. Metal composition isn’t the issue. Key engagement surface area is the same as stock when bolted down properly, bolt backs out, pulleys back off, key engagement turns into half or even less than that it looks like. Exact same torque as stock on the aftermarket pulley. Design of the pulley us nothing to do with what happened there.
