I definitely want to get some buckets at some point. Probably won’t happen until theres a cage though too.
Are some brands known to be taller or lower than others?
Corbeau mounts vs Solo motorsports PRP mounts height comparison?

I’d like to stay relatively close to Oem height, as I’m 5’8”

Here ya go. I had to cut out my set sensors and clamp them together. I also followed this.

One of the biggest reasons I went from a 1st gen to a 2nd gen.

It's awesome and a little surprising that so many people have done seat swaps. I did some 2009 G37 coupe seats. They were a surprisingly easy fit and wiring was a breeze, and proved comfortable for long drives too.

That's awesome! I want something more along the lines of what you did. Comfort for long drives. I found a thread full of 1st gen seat swaps, but is there a consolidated thread for 2nd gens?

I mainly did it for the reason of the seat height. I’m 6’1” and without the ability to lower the height, this was basically my only option. Glad I did it though too of course as these are way more comfy.

They are mostly plug-and-play. they bolt right in and I believe the airbag is plug and play. The seat sensors are I think the only thing to adjust. but similar to what I did you need to clamp them to trick them. My retrofitted seats were around $600. (audi S5 seats). If your looking you can find some deals.

That's a great deal on the FRS seats.

are they power or manual? If they are manual you just need to get some brackets or make brackets. If they are power you need to identify the power source. Usually its only 2 wires then you get all the power functions.

these are the seats I added to toss it in the mix. Made a harness so they were plug in play for the male/female sides from the donor vehicle and use aftermarket seat heater controller (retained factory seat heaters in the seats)
