What do you feel is the smallest we can go without meth? Meth isn’t really an option for me in CA but I have the eagerness to go smaller. I have a 2.5 somewhere and currently running 2.8. Once I get my exhaust updates and some fuel and air updates smaller pulley is going to happen

Skip it. I've used the larger capacity Denso and it takes longer to crank in my opinion which isn't a good thing on startups. Since then I switched back to the Toyota 90915-YZZD3 or Mobil m102A. If you're a "run the oil as long as you can", the end of oil life span, it's a game of diminishing returns. Providing your air filter is clean and you're running full synthetic, use the standard oil filter, you're doing a good job. The rest is internet lore in my opinion. I've done a bunch of Blackstone lab analysis as well and oil filter had little to do with what elements were found in the tested sample.

A few pages back someone was asking about lead time on supercharger kits...maybe @IvanhoeTaco.

I ordered a magnuson kit from URD 9/30. Was supposed to be 6-8 weeks per their website iirc. At this point the kit is all there and ready to go with the exception of the injectors. The delay isn't ideal but they've been good with updates when I email them.

I was planning on waiting until spring to install everything so it's not a huge issue for me at this point...if anything it's giving me time to collect some additional parts.

Yeah that was me. I appreciate the feedback. Someone on here mentioned summit racing which Ive used before with good results.

My next problem is finding some sort of coupon or special that will keep the price right at 6k and not near 7k with all the taxes.

Best you generally will find is 5% when there is a sale from Magnuson. Dealers only get 15% off or 20% if high volume. I had some discussions with a rep about becoming a vendor a couple years back.

try having it shipped to a buddy in OR for no sales tax. Also unless you need a carb sticker get the non bulky option and out that towards HP. I had to get the bulky option but never used it. Mainly to get the carb. The newer ones are linked to your serious number

It was just over $5.5k without a tune when I ordered.

But the tune is just a hand held correct?

I believe it's the bullydog tune that comes with the kit if you include a tune. My plan is to swap in an ecu that I'll have JustDSM flash (or pull mine and ship it to him to flash).

Yah they increased prices I believe start of 2020.
@IvanhoeTaco yah it’s a handheld that you flash the ECu. It can be used later for stuff but never used any part. I just had @JustDSM flash the trd tune then do his magic

Depends on how many mods you got and how much flow you got. Illegally, you can probably run a 2.6 if it's fully opened up without manifolds. With manifolds probably a 2.5. anything lower than that. Meth. Or cams.

The larger filter I run isn't for any type of "extra" or "better" filtering. It's purely so I can dump 6qts of oil and not have to bother with the 5.5qts required on the standard filter size.

I have a set of DT shorties that will go on. Debating a custom exhaust or picking up the URD Y/Exhaust just to make it easy. Besides that the truck has pretty much everything you have or will once solinoids, coil packs and e-fan finally get on. almost fresh out of things I can do without cams and or a stroker kit.

Thanks for the tips....I was into the washer fluid at first because I thought it would be cheap, but it doesn't seem to be the case. I ordered some boost juice and it delivered without issues.

There has to be another source of methanol....maybe in 5 gallon jugs? IDK, going to do some exploring, as methanol should be super cheap!

I think you're right in that I have it coming on too soon. I may bring it up to 2 psi start and all in at 10, which I won't hit, so max charge will be at 3/4 nozzle volume or 425cc/min at full boost.

Is it safe to assume you have MAF mods or did you squeak by on stock?

I did a little road trip today and did some mild off-roading, doesn't even resemble the old truck.. what a difference even at 0 boost (offsetting vaccuum of course). Wow.

    Thanks

True. I’m already dealing with heat so going smaller means more of all that. 2.5 was Miley the smallest I would go but was de sting if 2.6 or 2.7 is better option. Tempted to try all but already have 2.5 somewhere

Oh yeah that's right. I always forget about elevation since that's a non factor in my area for the most part.
