That’s for the cir-clip on the inner right? Is that the same as the outer? I thought I remembered them being different. Could be mistaken though.

Thanks for the quick reply, looks like it has a metal clip on that one , so probably not. I need the one For the stock intercooler coolant pump set up.

For anyone curious I had it lying around and used it for my high flow ZZx pump and it worked beautifully for myself.

 

That plug from frozen boost looks like it should work with the stock bosch pump, will order and let you all know. Thanks again all

 

Nope. Never tried it. Just remembered that you referenced it. The janky tiewrap solution on my ZZP connector seems to be holding snug.

I'm gonna post there here for everyone incase anyone runs into what I did, which is that I was changing my engine idler bearings and I needed to replace the one on the tensioner, how ever nobody sells just that pulley they want you to buy the whole tensioner which is annoying to change (involves removing the alternator and AC compressor). So I bought a whole new tensioner, and just swapped pullies. Now I have the spare tensioner if I ever need it, and I can get a replacement bearing and just swap it out if I ever need to again. Anyway, this is the bearing that's in there:

@nudavinci64 the key c clip to replace when you're going long travel is the outer c clip in the cv joint. That joint can be exceptionally hard to separate and lot of guys end up cutting the stock shaft and machining the shaft out of the inner race star. It looks like that c clip is grouped into the boot kit, but I've never seen it there before. I've cannibalized several shafts to get what I needed, just be aware. The other cir clips and c clips on the inner joints are usually more than fine to reuse.

 

I was thinking of using the SDHQ boots which do not include the C clip. I may go with the OEM ones but was thinking of doing that when I posted.

 

I purchased some cv joint high angles from CVJ couple years ago. The black outer boots leaked axle grease and already cracked and split completely apart but the inner red silicone boots are holding up good. And I don’t even off road. Long story short disappointed in CVJ

 

Yeah, from my understanding they simply rebuild stock cores with after market boots. For some reason their boots aren't standing the test of time. I've used OEM and EMPI boots to date, haven't had any issues to speak of. I have the high angle 934 cv's from JD fab in the front right now with stock Tacoma outer and EMPI boots with Swepco Moly 101. Haven't had too many chances to stretch them out yet but I have about 3-4k miles on them.

 

Yah I considered cvj but heard mixed things mike that and possibly not doing good QA if they are OEM axles or not.

 

That’s good to hear. I was looking at swepco moly as well. Seems there is a new version good for Toyotas Swepco 165 that’s what Swepco recommends at least.

 

im sure ill be needing axle service in the next year or so. getting my billet pullies and some idler bearings replaced today! cant wait to see a possible difference in how fast it revs!
