3 1/2 thick stock was the program. dammit, i just want these vibes to cease.

 

I'm in a similar boat. getting ready to AWD swap mine and am torn between going with a 1 piece or trying my luck on a 2 piece since i already have one i could get modified. I dont have any vibes right now and really want to avoid them at all costs. 4" one piece with a double cardan joint was what i was looking into

 

i may need a pic showing the placement and function of a double cardan. preferably drawn in crayon.

The double cardan joint is the one with the two u-joints right after the t-case. Allows you more flexibility on driveline angles from what i understand since theres two universals vs one

 

they have to show improvement over the OEM coils. hell if they showed they outputted more mJ than I'd be sold. Im still waiting for that data.

 

Ordered 9/30/21 arrived 2/2/22. The injectors were holding it up (production then slow boat/port delays).

It will probably be another couple months before I install, need to start collecting supporting mods and figure out how to get the tune sorted (mail ecu to JustDSM or have it flashed locally).

 

great point. oem is hard to beat. without proof oem is my 1st choice.

This is correct. Mine is a 4" diameter. Considering the fact that my current transmission is shorter than what it used to be with the OEM transfer-case, I was lucky when I purchased mine, as I never considered the critical speed. Quite simply because I didn't know about it at the time. I just said that I need one for X amount of HP.

Being lowered, I had to cut the cross-member out. To keep the strength. I added it back flipped over with square tubing. And a removable loop, which goes upwards under the body.

Regardless of driveshaft style. The angles must be correct. Or the vibes will persist.

 

Anyone interested in Doug Thorley shorty heads for 05-11 1GR? I have high flow cats on them that went out on me. Looking to recoup some funds from the engine rebuild. I will cut off the cats. PM me to talk price.

 

Which brand cats are those? They are blown out hollow now?

@Torspd One is going out for sure, it was coming apart. The other, not sure. The o2 sims concealed the codes.

 

I'd be down for a pair of RIPP coils, just in case a gp comes about

 

I’d like to see tested gains / changes for coil packs and would potentially be in for a GB if there was one if I decided the performance/cost was worth it to me.

 

ugh. kinda crossing my fingers at this point and guessing. my pinion angle isnt correct either. is there a degree # that im looking for or is every truck specific? currently 4:10's and 35's. this shop makes them up to 72" i need about 68"

 

Talk to the shop and let them know what tires size and gearing you have. They can calculate the driveshaft critical speed and let you know if it is ok or not.
