If you live and drive where the temps exceed 95 degrees, I would install the gasket. The gasket is intended to force air through the inner cooler and cool the charge down. In high temperatures near sea level, you’ll be risking more.

you could buy a bearing kit with a new coupler, do it and post pics like a rockstar!
im not sure if ill do my own or pay money for said service.

I did a rebuild about 2 years ago. It’s definitely more tricky for us 2.3 pulley shave downs and pressing new bearings in.

That seal is EPDM and EPDM is good for 302* F. Being that the moment it is sucked through and getting ingested into the combustion chamber seeing temperatures north of 1100* F I would imagine the seal incinerates by the time or even before it even hits the catalytic converters.

Anything’s possible to attempt. But I’d recommend a hydraulic press and a blind hole inner puller set

 

Melling is a legit company in my hometown. They were big in the domestic aftermarket. I've ran their internals in Chevy 350 v8 builds years ago. Not sure if they are in the Toyota game now but they have a good reputation overall.

 

I have looked into them. They don't have a flanged sleeve option that will work.
