Oh geez. Noice! (Not really) dude that SO sucks. I'm sorry that happened to you.

I've done it a time or two especially when you know without a shadow of a doubt that it is going in straight. Those are the ones that piss me off!

Matter of fact, I had a bolt for one of the wiring retainers on my new alternator that did that to me the other day. It wouldn't go on but the bolt was straight as an arrow. I put some lubricant on the bolt and worked it in and out several times and all ended well.

Lefty loosey righty loosey, either way, it's loose.

So what's he going to do, just pull the coils out just like that? Lol.

Memory must be hazy, they just quoted me "on the higher end would be $2800". But that includes new motor mounts and some other things. 2 day job

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
No press needed, just tap them in and measure each tap. There is a depth setting for the needle bearings they don't just get pounded flush at the back. Just put the bearing in the freezer overnight and then tap them into the seats at the back of the blower housing.

To remove the old ones took cutting/ripping out the plastic cage holding the bearings first then blind hole puller with roughly a thousand hits each to remove the metal casings. Superchargers online was a great help, they cut the housing to remove them, but over time and anger and alcohol will remove all that pains you.

The 4Runner ones I installed are taller than stock. I think blower comes off (mine was off when I installed though). Not that much extra work though. Maybe adds 40 min.

Alright experts, this is where I'm at with the supporting mods and I want to make sure I'm not asking for problems.

    • 2.7" pulley (keep in mind I'm at 4,500ft)
    • Spec-U headers with O2 extensions so I can use the bung after the collectors.
    • Deatschwerks 255 Lph Pump
    • factory exhaust from the Y-pipe to muffler (might gut the secondary cats for now) with plans for equal length 2.5" Y-pipe to 3" from the collector back...cat/muffler/resonator tbd
    • aFe 2si intake (might be a few months on the stock airbox first)
Will anti foulers be sufficient or can the readiness codes be sorted with the tune (HPTune)? Would a 2.8" be a safer move until the cat back and intake?

You may consider a tune from hptuners to account for the 2.7

Yeah, I'm working with @JustDSM on the tune. Just not sure if a 2.7 is too aggressive with the factory airbox and y-pipe.

Just go the quick change route so you don't have to do the pulley press twice like I'm gonna end up doing

That's the plan, just trying to decide if I order it with the 2.7 or 2.8.

I'll be cutting the snout too.

Just want to make sure that I'm not going to have issues with AFR or boost. I should have added that I tow a trailer between sea level and 9k ft several times a year.

HPtune, EL headers, AFE CAI, 2.7 pulley on stock ypipe is perfectly fine regardless of elevation.

2.7 is fine…..2.8 is not much different. As long as your tuned for it, 2.7 won’t cause issues with your afr’s and will only provide you a little more boost. I never was keen on cutting a wider multi rib belt down to attain a 5 ribbed belt for a 2.7, so I never did. The alternative is being able to keep a stock sized belt only if you have a pulley wrap mod. It takes up the slack by putting on a smaller pulley. The pulley mod was looking weathered and I wanted to take it off before it caused me issues…..for what, just to have a slightly smaller pulley? It was much easier just to take off the wrap mod, switch to a 2.8, keep my stock sized belt.

That's the news of 2015-2018. The Roush tensioner is the other route you can go if you want to run an OE length belt and not experience slippage with the smaller pulleys. The added tension that it has provides additional traction and bite on the belt in order to ensure the proper PSI output.

Run that with a Gates RPM series 70.5" length OE belt and you're good to go. I am still running the one I got several years ago with no signs of deterioration.

That being said, 2.5 and below pulleys will and should definitely swap belts out to the smaller 69.5" length belt. If you run that size though there is no RPM series belt that length so you will have to run either Fleetrunner, standard, or other different style belts, but since I last checked RPM was not being made in that size.
