@White lightning boosted is your afr going lean?
isnt your truck over weight? that will make it sluggish until you build power.

Also have you been able to monitor your boost levels/afr and fuel trims? Also make sure your coolant pump is working, maybe its pulling timing because the intake air is heating up? Just throwing out ideas..

My truck has recently been throwing the p015d and p015b again, normally it would do it once a year then go away. Always a pending code, recently it has been in pending more often and I noticed my mpg from my ultragauge vs actual mpg has been off way more than it usually is (.5 mpg at most to now over 2 mpg difference). Of course as soon as I buy two new o2 sensors for it the pending code hasn’t come back, but I am still going to install them, hopefully get some mpg back.

Random question. The coolant lines that run to the throttle body. That is moving hot coolant over the tb, right? Supposed to be for....?

Correct. Most cars do it so that the throttle body blade doesn’t freeze in super cold temperatures from what I have read. I’m not really sure how common of an issue that is but I imagine if it some how got stuck open at WOT that would be bad so now we all get a free intake air heater.

Thanks. Follow up: I'm not super engine smart. And your explanation is what I remember seeing in the past. But aren't we trying to get cold dense air in? Does this have any adverse effect in that sense? Does anyone run these removed? I've never had a car with a tb like this before so just makes me curious.

You are correct, we want the coldest air in possible. I cannot in good faith really say one way or the other since I have never tested myself. But in my mind I don’t see how the air passing through something that’s heated up to 185 F doesn’t heat up at least a tiny bit. I don’t know that it would make a noticeable difference in reality. The whole blower assembly soaks up heat from the engine so in that case it would also be heating up the air, probably more than the little throttle body will.

I am pretty certain there is a few guys in here who have bypassed the hoses (looping them together instead of having them go into the throttle body). I just don’t know if it really makes much of a difference doing that vs leaving it stock.

I may test bypassing it. I just don't know how I'd take any meaningful measurements. When I was working on the s/c last year, thought I needed to remove the tb and hoses. one of them got a pin prick hole and leaks coolant

I do recall it being bypassed by a couple guys a while back. I’m sure that can de bone without any issue whatsoever.

99% sure @Athlaos put a shutoff valve on his for summer driving. Then he opens it for winter

They make and OEM thermostatic valve where upon reaching a temp closes it no coolant goes by the tb. Me I just disconnected the hoses and capped the the ports.

@White lightning boosted Pending the simple things check out timing will make for a slow acceleration and by 2500 your boost is kicking in. You're on a HPtuner right?

    By the way,

Tested resistance on my bad and good coil. Not seeing any difference. I think once there's current applied, the issue becomes apparent. Will need to research some more

My truck started fine in that Texas shit show last year and I needed to be in the er everyday. The right way is to buy the valve. The cheap way is the way I took cause tx isn't supposed to be cold.
