For the FIC injector folks do you recall if you installed as is or used the factory runner washer deals at the top pictured?

pretty sure I used what they sent as it’s supposed to be setup for a Tacoma already but always second guessing it. Thinking of potential areas to test and what was done.

What factory washer deals? Do you mean the retainer locks? If so, then hell yeah we did.

    Yes for the Camero. :p

I got a full AFe axleback setup on the way which will be here Monday and will be getting modified to fit these mufflers instead of the AFe ones the moment it arrives.

I picked up a black quad tipped version. It's going to look and sound killer with the X pipe to H pipe transition prior to exiting out to the mufflers.

Hmm.. I must've misunderstood what you were saying then. I don't see which part it is exactly what you're referring to.

If it fits in there and sits right and you get no slop to it once it's bolted in then you'll be okay. Just make sure you put a little Vaseline or something similar on the o- rings so they slide in there without issue.

The only problem with what I'm wanting to do is because it's an all stainless setup and I want to do it right I gotta get it TIG welded. Luckily my guy who is going to do it is located close to me so the drive won't be an issue at all. Dude it's tough to find a good quality place that does work correctly these days, it really is!

ah yes I need to find a tig shop too. I think the one I found does it but need to go back and check. my BW muffler is getting lonely not being on the truck. Need to get a JFR Y modified along with the DT shorties.

You're falling behind on the mods man! I got my setup all done already and am preparing for the next one all the meanwhile you haven't finished your first one. :boink:

In your defense though, I have done nothing as far as headers go on either of these and likely never will, and you are modifying everything that bolts to the motor exhaust wise front to back, so you have a good excuse. Lol.

Twin vortices series (had to google it).

Rotors mesh together better for more efficient/volume airflow with less heat generated compared to roots type blowers.

They ditched the transmission cooler for 2019+ model Tundras. I have one on backorder should arrive this month. Wonder if that's what ate up his trans, getting to hot while rodding it. Also been reading that the 3UR engines don't have good piston ring gaps for boosted versions. I don't plan on getting to wild with mine, or running high boost. Just want that constant power going up mountain hills

A lot of the good local welders from 20yrs ago...have either

    1. Found work at Tesla as fabricators and struck it rich.
    2. Realized their skill was in such demand that they stopped doing exhaust welding (tiptoe legality) and transitioned into racecar chassis fab, roll cages, exotic metal (Ti) welding. Lots of P-cars, lambos, ferraris living their boy racer dreams out at Buttonwillow and Sears Point.

That shop in Santa Clara is one of the outliers. There's some in Campbell and up north in Sonoma. But none that I know of on the Pennisula.

    WOW.... Nope.

For that price, might as well just do an LS engine swap.

They actually compress the incoming air charge due to their 170* helical design (some of the even newer, even more aggressive designs are supposed to 180* from what I remember) unlike roots which just takes the air and spins it around. Their designs are supposed to be around the 110* so they are not capable of compressing air like a TVS is capable of doing.

They are also more efficient so more capable of handling higher boost pressures before falling off their efficiency map. Which is why if you ever drive in one, the whine is distinctively different in comparison to roots series blowers.
