Position wise due to where the headers are? Noticeable difference?

Dropped IAT’s 15-20 degrees depending on the driving situation.

Haven’t seen anything regarding rain/water yet.. surprisingly. Thoughts? I know our trucks are relatively sealed, and it would effectively be similar to driving through a puddle.

after some quick searching, only issue is most prevalent with suicide type louvres (avoid), and boils down to corrosion of fasteners. Just make damn sure any after market electronics are sealed.

    anyone else have any worries/concerns/experience?

this is something that interests me!

I have had no issues with rain and the louvers. I also run 37” mud terrain tires with no inner fenders and the intake behind the headlight in an open wheel well. And we get a bit of rain and snow here

Yah rain I always was curious about but if it’s not directly on it should be fine. I have 35’s, with no liners and all that. Not as much as @snowsk8air2 but main was the top down but positioning seems to be over enough to not be an issue. I do have a few things far wired up on the drivers side.

def something a I may consider. Was hoping Seibon or similar was going to cone out with a vented hood so I could get some weight Savings to.

prob missed it but which ones did you get @snowsk8air2?

Rain is not an issue with any sort of louvers or vented hood scoop. You would literally have to drive through a GIANT puddle and place the intake directly in front of the opening and ingest a massive amount of water before it is ever an issue and gets into your cylinders to cause hydrolock.

I don’t even remember. Might be a post somewhere in my build thread as I know others have asked before. Or search in here or the hp tuner thread for my posts. I know I posted the link in one of the 3 places. Got them off Amazon

Yah I’m not worried about the engine more about random electronics and shit. Hoods dented already so it’s asking to be cut up.

definitely want in on some louvers. Thinking maybe 3d printing some from ABS (need to look at melting points or existing materials used aside from carbon/metal)..

    Different gear..
Anyone with ECU part number experience want to forever lay the info out for all to easily find? Wondering why my specific mode ECU is harder to find than most and if there’s a degree of interchangeability. Also want to leave a reference for future folks to find easily, I searched and any info is buried.

Manual trans ecu’s are much rarer than the millions of auto ecu’s.

I can get auto ecu’s reconfigured for Manual use. I’ve done a few and even used an auto ecu in my ‘15 manual to proof it.

It would never hurt to ask them to make one, since the mold for the dimensions of hood will stay the same. Or to at least install some louvers in the hood for you.

Hannaman Motorsports might still make a louvered hood, out of fiberglass.
