i went back and forth so much between 4.56 and 4.88 on my auto on 35’s. Finally decided on 4.56 as it brings me closest to factory gearing (slightly overgeared) and I won’t be buzzing down the hwy. considering I’ve been on factory gears and 35’s for a while I know it’ll be a drastic difference and the SC should really make it the perfect combo for what I use the truck for

I'm barely above stock size tires but the 3400' elevation gets me. And I want more acceleration :D

Also, you're auto so you most likely have 4.10. They spec the auto and manual trucks different.

You might be thinking of the 4 banger. V6 trucks on had 3.73 minus the xrunner which had 3.15 my gear ratio is the same when I did the LSD install

Anyone in our trucks who made the switch from 3.73 to 4.30/4.56/4.88.... see a decrease in mpg?

In my previous car, I went from 3.38 to 3.91 and the mpg hit was significant. But apples to oranges...

with a change in tire size also, i didnt from that. just from all the extra weight taht went on my truck. and where the spare tire is mounted. that caused the worst mileage i had until i put a canopy on the back. improved my mileage about 2mpg

Change your gear oil to a lighter weight if possible and use a speedo calibration. Some of the builds have changed to Lucas 85w-140 (pretty sure that's an ecgs recommendation) but after break in, I'm more inclined to change over to something lighter. Try Amsoil 75w-140.

Yah I’ve debated I have been running lucas based on ECGS but ran Amsoil before hand.

When you increase the tire size you also need to regear in order to match the new tire size. So whatever the stock gearing was in the axle it was good to match 265's or whatever our original tire size was. Now that you boys run 35's the OE 3.xx gears are not up to snuff and you have to go up in gearing to re- match proper output to the wheels.

I probably worded that all mucked up, but I hope it somewhat makes sense. :D

Swapping new Banjo Bolts in. Any trips to limit more air or fluid loss? Ran into an issue and likely bent one of the banjos. Managed to get it tight enough to go home. Planning on swapping out this week and figure limit the bleeding. (Stoptech caliipers) Will be doing both fronts but main issue is drivers side (shorter head on the banjo bolt).

Would it make sense to bleed all 4 brakes or rear should be okay? All stoptech's so just seeing how long of a process this will be.

When it comes to bleeding air out of lines... Do it all once. Everything. A lot. That way you're not having issues later and have to go back in and do them all.

If you're opening the system might as well get fresh fluid in it and bleed all corners.

Since I have the 2.85 pulley is it worth it to get a slightly smaller diameter belt or just stay with standard size?

yah makes sense. Was seeing if there was a way around it since the truck has fresh fluid in it minus the banjo bolt issue.

Anyone have a good rec on fluid beside dot 3 OEM? I used to run higher but this past put dot 3 back in. I keep going back and forth on a higher temp fluid due to the weight of the truck.
