TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I felt the response we a bit nicer on the combo but it was not crazy. That wit the Tundra TB noticed more of a response improvement. Then add on the solenoids on top and overall its nice and smooth and peppy.

i really know nothing yet. ill get info when i get it. my order of interest was fuckin fix it. they seem to be almost done. my job has prevented good communication. i am offline during buisness hrs often.

 

I got my stock pulley off, but how the hell do I get the allen bolt out of the shaft now. The puller tool tightened the bolt pretty snug

I got it now, just had to think for a minute which isn’t my strong suit . The head got a little deformed so I had to hammer the key in and use my impact while twisting the belt with the vise grips.

I’ve wanted the supercharger forever!

 

I’m swapping the 2.7 pulley on now before I install, figured it would be easier to just go ahead and do it. Already installed an AEM 320 lph fuel pump and got my ECU back from JustDSM yesterday with the TRD calibration. This thread has been a huge help, I have been lurking for a long time.

 

Well that sucks. I‘m not sure I got it on far enough, sticking out about 1/16”. I heated it to 350° for an hour and worked as fast as I could, but it was really tight.

 

Yeah it needs to be atleast be flush, I think.

And u should have gotten the quick change pulleys.

This seems like a good place to ask since it’s full a knowledge and is everyone’s build thread…

where on the 1gr is the serial number? I believe authorities can match it to the VIN? I’m not planning anything nefarious! The reason I ask is that I know that engine swap rules in CA require the donor engine to be of the same or younger year than the car it goes into…. That’s known fact. But how do they check? Say I wanna swap my 2007 with a V8. Donor engine saw zero changes between 2005 - 2009 and a 2009 ECM plugs straight into and will work in a 2005 (after performing immobilizer handshake). And 2005-6 are easier to find.

Wonder if the ref would actually look and cross reference (not sure if that can even be pulled on the spot) or if they would rely on what the ECU reads. And again, a newer ECU could be sourced and plugged in… And also left with stock tune to go back in for biannual smog checks…

Only people that I'm aware of that would are those in trucking to ensure certain engines can be used on those tractors from 07 and up. Stupid imo but whatever.
