It is! The tundras have issues with MAF tripping 5v threshold on boosted applications, so requires a larger diameter MAF sampling area. Even the Magnusun S/C kit for Tundra comes with a larger intake

 

How long is this one? Been awhile since my Mec eng days but from my understanding the length is determined by your specific RPM that the resonance is happening at so if you have an app or a microphone that can measure that specific wavelength at that RPM where it peaks then you can determine length ideally the longer it is The higher in the RPM range is where the resonator is going to operate. For me at 75 my trucks rpm is around 2200-2300. Not that I've done the math hut I was guessing mine needs to be 12-14in in length. However my plan was to also use a clamp or clamps for multiple cuts and that way you can vary the length to target the drone at certain RPM.

 

Ah yes love homework. There was a guy that sold cat back exhaust systems with the helmholtz resonator. I believe it was dirty deeds industries is what it was called. Might still be in business too

 

I’m winding down on my install. I’m going to wire the coolant pump next. I believe the instructions call for it to connect to the fuel pump circuit. Does anyone recall a better fuse slot so that it won’t kick on when the fuel pump cycles while parked?

 

Must be getting old. Those charge pipes are an eye sore in polished

 

I don't think there's one under the hood but I could be wrong. I did a fuse tap into an ignition controlled fuse in the cab and used that to trigger the relay.

 

Na, not just you. Imo it's not how I would route it but not my project.

 

On the Tundra, and it's the exact same pump, instructions have us wire it to the IGN fuse, and is only on when truck is on.

 

I wired to fog light relay in fuse box iirc to avoid that problem.

just got my truck back after 2 months. relieved yet very disappointed. they got my new pulleys on, and stock cams in. truck runs better than the day i bought it. runs flawless. heads did not need rebuilding. cam chains and gears were replaced as they were damaged. just feel really taken. $8100 to swap cams??? fuck. miss the kelford exhaust note. i guess i cant afford nice things. no more mods. may get a different truck in the summer.
i cant work 2 jobs for 3 months to fix mistakes. need to know my place and back out of auto modding. not worth it.

 

Glad you got the truck back and it runs good. I'm sorry to hear about the big hit. But, its over and time to heal and move forward.

it is just an expensive mistake. this year doesnt like kelfords. it runs better than good. its amazing. runs so smooth.

 

Yeah, this is why I backed off the modding plans and bumped from the 2.6” back to the 2.7” pulley. It’s been a fun Teo and a half years with the truck, but likely selling soon and getting a “slow” beater old Honda Element. Something to toss the dirty bikes and gear inside and still sleep inside occasionally when on solo trips. Truck is overkill for me now.

 

There is a vague line when doing mods of going too far and paying a steep price. After blowing the motor in my supercharged Gladiator and taking a 5 figure hit, I was out. I’ll rock the mind-blowing fast Tesla for speed things and keep my 1st Gen Tacoma drivetrain stock for reliability. That said, we modded my 2nd Gen pretty good, and it was extremely reliable.

At our elevation, you're fine all the way to 2.5", with which I see WOT boost of 6-7PSI. You're gonna sell THAT truck for a Honda Element?!? GTFO!

Sounds like you could reclaim that nicely modded 2nd Gen you should never have sold.
