TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

What the fack! So sorry man!

 

2015 with stock TRD Tune is so dang rich at cold start that it smells like I burned raw gas for 30+ seconds… is this life, or should I start worrying about something?

I am due to pull the plugs and inspect, maybe install a new set, as well as change the nose oil soon, but anything else I should look at?

Or just mention this to be addressed in my custom OTT tune?

Or am I just out of luck because it is closed loop at startup or something else?

 

Do you have the aftermarket retarded cam gears? They make that smell worse!

 

Datalog it with the channels provided in the FAQ and I’ll see if anything looks abnormal.

 

I didn’t end up installing them and sold them. Don’t feel like cracking the case open.

Seriously, I have no such issue with my @JustDSM tune.

 

How is that considered totaled?

 

Doors, cab, bed, wheels, tires, undercarriage parts. Time to wait till parts come in. There are totaled out tundras of the same year with less damage on copart right now, in my area.

 

Put a GPS tracker on it and follow it to the junkyard. Then go start pulling off parts for discount

 

I'm already pulling parts off! Even if they don't total it, I don't want to keep it anymore after this. I'd probably just trade it in.

If I can find a single cab regular bed 4x4 5.7L I will definitely move parts over to that! But they only had those available in the earlier year models.

 

Wanna double check that the Ruthenium HX plugs should work fine in an N/A engine? Pretty sure I tossed the stock plugs

After sending in pictures and speaking with insurance again on the phone, they are going to send out an adjuster to look at truck on Wednesday and determine if totaled or not.

If anyone has leads for a RCSB 4x4 5.7L, let me know! I believe those were only available through 2007-2013

 

As my car club guys always say, "broken sh!t is a chance to upgrade". So you can trade the truck in/get your money and go to town on something even better!
