Most folks here use my tune, and I appreciate that they don't share my IP freely.

Agree and I wouldn’t want to do that. I’m not a skilled tuner or trust my knowledge in engines enough, but for the 2nd gen trucks, as far as I know, we can’t “read” from the ECU to pull the current tune, but only that HP Tuners does some request to the server and provides us the default calibration for our ECU - is that correct? Is that the case when we have the TRD Tune as well?

So @Thorthor should just be able to click the “read” button in HP Tuners and work from that base tune, correct?

Thats not what Justin did he got the TRD tune and built it from there? To say it is IP is an over exaggeration you did not design or write anything just changed values.
This is a forum... or just a place where only Justin can say who tunes ? This mindset is not what a forum should be and don't be surprised if TW shuts down for lack of people sharing their passion for trucks. People coming together to help to others keeps forums going. Not one person trying to make money off of everyone !!!

No need to get upset, I think there’s some confusion.

Justin isn’t giving away his time, testing, and custom tunes for free. This is more than reasonable.

You are welcome to obtain the base tune and make your modification and even sell that to people if you want as well - nothing stopping you. Or you can even share your modified files for free with people if you want. It’s your time and effort put into changing parameters on the tune.

You may be new here - whether have been lurking and just signed up, or just completely fresh - but Justin has been WAY more than helpful to all of us on TW and beyond. Usually at no charge for advise or answers to random questions about MAF values and other information.

My man, we are more than happy to help current and newcomers of the boosted variety on here whether this platform or other platforms if the member providing the information has knowledge in the subject matter, but the mods will not nor should they shut down this thread because it has been up and running strong since 2015 and has been the cornerstone for mod central on this forum if you are boosted.

People are happy to share files on here, but what you have to understand is that not every single truck falls into a "one size fits all" category nor will they ever, because much like people, every vehicle has its own personality and no two will ever be the same, despite the mods being equal on both of them, due to a multitude of reasons.

Less hostility, more nobility. More members will be BEYOND happy to help you if you follow that one simple unspoken rule on here. Anywhere really, actually.

I’m pretty sure this thread is a great example of people coming together to modify these trucks in a successful way. It’s pretty common knowledge now but I have been here since day one and all of the info has certainly helped all of us keep our trucks running healthy with extra power.

As far as tuning goes, if you’d like to share different ideas for anything I am sure people would be happy to test and even guide. In my opinion Justin’s tune has been going solid for a few years on my truck and I am very happy with it. I can’t see a reason to change much

    Plenty of info here

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/instructions-for-custom-tuning-the-truck-with-hptuners.70590/

But as others said, still not gonna have people posting their files as everything is custom to their mods. You can find lots of files over on HPTuners forum

For whatever reason, all of the ViktorG vids got taken down. That dude had a STUPID FAST tundra! But in the later pages Snivilous posts a lot of screenshots and how-to's

Glad to see this thread is still active.

Installing my 2.85" pulley this weekend or next. Just wanted some clarification before proceeding.
I have the TRD tune from @JustDSM , wideband A/F and boost gauges, stock besides that.

    Questions are:
Do I need ECU reflash and/or high flow fuel pump?
Will I benefit from FPR mod, and if so, will this require ECU reflash and fuel pump?

I had the 2.85" and high flow fuel pump and dynoed without the fpr mod. The dyno showed that having the fpr mod would be beneficial.

I now run with the fpr mod and would suggest that you do to. No need to retune.

I have been suggesting the FPR mod to folks for a long time now. It's the way it should have come configured via TRD/ Magnuson instructions.

    @EchoLake

Get a new fuel pump for sure and if you are t tuned already you definitely need to do so. There is power being left off the table in stock configuration.

    Alright guys,
Picking up a TRD supercharger that I got a smokin deal on.
My truck has 152k on it but has been absolutly stout so I think I’m gonna run it unless I get a good offer on it lol

I have the SC, Intercooler, Injectors, Fuel Pump, upgraded pulley, Intake, And Tuned ECU

What else will I need before I install this thing, or what else should I look into,
I know I’ll have to do my exhaust at some point. just curious what else should be done,

As a mechanic who wrenches on customers vehicle, I’m not familiar with the blower setups. If I decide to rebuild, how difficult is it to rebuild the blower or is it even necessary?
    Thanks!
