I run the Remflex 6006's on my Spec U's and stock Y-pipe collectors (the rest of the Y-pipe has all been cut off and remade). They work pretty well for me actually. I run longer bolts and torque to their spec. I have to change them maybe once or twice a year at most when they eventually blow out... but not sure on what other option there is that would work, at least for me.

Yeah im running URD EL headers and I’m a little concerned about them not sealing with the stock y-pipe due to the recessed flanges

Thanks for the feedback. I may hold off and just order some of these from URD. These are what came with my headers. Might be another option you could consider https://urdusa.com/urd-exhaust-collector-crush-gasket-each/

Had zero issues in 20K with the URD headers and stock y when using the URD gaskets. Were fine after a few installs/reinstalls too.

    Hope that helps.

The one closes to cab in hardest need to remove the 3/8 vacuum line for that one too and it’ll still jamb up your hand if not perfect dexterity. It’s annoy AF. My one buddy is a master mechanic for years he grew up in a shop
I always follow his advice. He said he would never take a SC off to do plugs and there’s gotta be a way. Think about the 20 year old kids working his shop that would screw it up.

There is a word for that in this industry by the veterans and old heads, "work smarter, not harder." After you've spent enough time and been around the block a few times, you learn to use your head to tackle the harder jobs to preserve your body and endurance.

I was that 20 year old at one point. I had my screw ups here and there, and taking off the intake manifold or supercharger is the absolute last thing you want to do if you can avoid it. Why work harder, when you can just work around it smarter to accomplish the same job.

The smartest thing is to just start collecting all of your mods and maintenance leading up to the point where you HAVE to do it (failure or maintenance is due) and then just doing it all at once so you only have to remove/unplug/disconnect and put back together once :D At least that is what I keep telling myself as the “deadline” to do a supercharger service gets closer to reality. I am due to check my plugs in the next few thousand miles though, so that plan may get accelerated.

The URD gaskets are the only ones I got a good seal with.

How many miles could you possibly have on the blower to feel the need to service it?

Anyone know of a reputable s/c installer in Michigan? Have a buyer for my Tundra TRD S/C!

@JustDSM I've sent him OTT's info to get tuning done for it. Should be finalizing sale soon. :fingerscrossed:

Well, recommended service is 100k miles, right? That’s assuming the stock 2.8” pulley…

If it was installed when the truck had about 3k miles, and I currently have 90k on the truck… and half or more of the life has had a smaller pulley, the effectively it has more “miles” than just 87k on the blower.

Everything works fine, I think the service I plan to do is nose oil change and replace the slightly noisy stock coupler with a solid one.

    Stock pulley is 3”
I’m in a similar boat pretty sure mine needs rebuilding soon. My coupler has been making noise for some time I would be shocked if it isn’t broken in some way.

When I bought mine used, it definitely needed a rebuild. SCOL even said it needed a new rotor pack when I sent it in.

Mine was making 2 separate noises.
1st noise sounded like gravel road inside the housing, or almost like dragging a plastic bucket on the asphalt.
2nd noise was a chirping in the nose bearings.
This was all after I replaced the nose coupler with a solid one and fluid with the GM stuff. While I was in there, everything “felt tight”, and turned smooth by hand. I didn’t see any issues until it was on the truck.

Not sure if i crossposted this here or not before. But doing so again because I FINALLY found and ordered the missing elusive Intercooler Reservoir Mounting Bracket kit! And on the Lexus parts site no less lol. So I ordered it and now the kit is basically complete. Buyer still needs to get the Fuel pump cause I'm just not dropping that Tundra tank for a 5th time lol

Hell no my dude. You run that blower until the inner bearings start making noise.

I have seen a 3800 series GM engine with the M90 run up to 240,000 miles and the bearings were still good and the blower still quiet. I wouldn't even touch a rebuild until you are having issues and by issues I mean noises.
