I have one off my 2015.

I'll have to check on how many miles on it - most likely less than 40,000.

I had a compression test and leak down test today as a pre-clearance for a TRD supercharger on my 2015 Trd Sport. It has 100k miles. Wondering what people think about these numbers and if the motor is healthy enough for the blower. (I’m at sea level)

    compression test result/leak down result:
    C1 - 188 / 12.2% leaking into crank case
    C2 - 190 / 8.88%
    C3 - 198 / 5.55%
    C4 - 205 / 5.55%
    C5 - 205 / 3.33%
    C6 - 205 / 4%

    thanks in advance!

I would recheck cyl 1. But not bad. They are within 10% leak down of each other. I would look up Toyota's specs for compression and leak down and use those specs. I put my supercharger on at 150k

Updated numbers (had them wrong originally). I couldn’t find Toyota’s leak down numbers anywhere, but compression is 145-189.

What does Toyota say about max psi differential between low and high cylinders?
Edit: are you able to find where the higher leakage is going on cyl 1? Did you add a little oil and see if the compression come up on cyl 1?

I couldn’t find max differential either, but I have read no more than 10% difference.

leakage was going to crank case

No more than 20 psi difference. Any more than that and you will be misfiring.

So then I’m on the cusp of misfiring

That would indicate more wear on the cylinder walls or rings for that cylinder. The leak down in within 10%. You can run it. I would run it. Just keep in mind where your engine stands and it might be come something more, or you may run a normal life for the engine. I don't want to scare you, just be informed.
You can bore scope the cylinder and look at the walls for peace of mind.

In other words. Send it. Don't overthink it. Just send it. Lol.

I think I found those compression leak down numbers in a Haynes or Chilton manual. I performed the procedure on mine ~1 year ago.
S/C put on ~140k mi, tested ~200k mi and all were well within spec.

I wish I knew enough about engines to comment, I don't know what leak down and compression values are supposed to mean

Ya it’d be nice to find those so I could check. Compression numbers are within or exceeding specs, just worried about the leak down.

General rule of thumb for leak down is min and max cylinder are within 10% you are there.

Meanwhile I'm over here wondering how I lost 3 mpg before and after my exhaust rework, hmm

I don't think so because I was on it here in Cali for about a month now. And I know it's not the pulley because I had it on for 2 weeks before. Same driving habits. I put JBA shorty headers on, I to an xpipe to dual exhaust out. /Shrug

What is your current fuel economy? 13-14 mph is not outside of the scope of normal. I average about 245- 250 miles per tank if I'm lucky.
