I went on Gesi’s site and didn’t really See one that was carb approved, only epa

 

My apologies, maybe i thought it had a carb cert but just has an epa compliance ref number.

 

I think I need bigger brakes. The first time my brakes overheated I think on the trail down the mountain where they stopped working. Super sketchy, never happened to me before.

 

I recommend 6-pistons

16" wheel problems

Even going with Stoptech cryo slotted rotors and the TRD pads was a good improvement over the OEM rotors/pads. I just replaced the pads today after 2.5 years and about 25k miles...much of that is in the mountains or off-road and probably 10k miles was towing our trailer.

I only have 33s though but will likely be replacing or rebuilding the calipers with the next brake change, if not sooner since the inside pads were more worn on both sides. I would like to upgrade the brakes but keep my wheels.

Yeah, decide on your minimum wheel size, then brakes. Otherwise you’ll be stuck with 17’s, which isn’t bad.

 

Sounds like a A/T problem. Never had this happen with my 6MT.

 

I'm not planning on changing from the 16" F5s...I have 7 of them now between the truck and trailer so I'm somewhat committed and the sub 19lb weight is nice.

 

My 17s are 21lbs…

Not going 17" is a slight regret due to the limits with a BBK and limited tire selection but I was after a light weight setup with as much sidewall as I could get and these get me where I want to go so I'm planning to work with what I have.

 

I want 21lbs wheels. Lol! My methods are 29lbs if I recall.

 

Maybe try new Hi Temp Brake fluid and Upgraded pads before spending +$2K?
Or the 4Runner swap?

 

I actually lost weight up front going from my old 17" wheels + 33's... to newer/lighter 17" wheels + 35's with my Wilwood BBK.

Edit: my truck has been taking a little longer cranking over when I start it, hopefully it's not the dreaded fuel pump line overtightened

 

if you have an aftermarket f/p it could require a check valve inline to prevent excessive cranking. @JasonLee and i have them.
