To be fair, there is so much info in that first post that I often forget what is buried in there. My post wasn't intended to downplay your outstanding detective work

I felt the same way after my alternator was replaced. I knew my stock 130A was dying because of visual indicators but also due to the Voltage display on my Ultragauge.

Had the alternator replaced with a BN 180A and it felt like my truck had an energy drink.

I deal with it all day long at my job. KTM’s do not like the wrong type of battery in them, even it it’s the same specs on paper.
Making sure the stator rotors are timed too. People never put them together with the pick up in the right spot :p

Hello! Having supercharged a few cars over the years (two s2000s and a G35), I have to say this is an impressive thread! I have a low mileage 2007 FJ cruiser and picked up a Magnuson kit! Install is going down in a week with a URD Walbro 255lph and a 2.85 stealth pulley. I will be skipping the BD tune and instead doing a TRD Tune and will be adding an Innovate PSB-1 to monitor AFR and Boost.

I have read 150 pages so far and saw some mixed feedback on removing the restrictor jet. What’s the verdict by page 2435 ?

I’ll adjust the bypass and add the hose clamps, anything else before the install? Attached a picture of the G35, pushing over 430whp on the CARB legal kit with 91 octane and WMI tuned myself with a Split Second piggyback. That car is gone, but I have plans to import a Supra in the next few years!

    Looking forward to learn here!

That sounds like a (mostly) great plan... Suggest you consider going with a Smoothflow Qwikchange Hub (that will make it easy for you to upgrade/downgrade pulleys in the future), RIP-Modded (helps prevent slip) Pulley in your preferred size, and a @JustDSM tune (far better than TRD). Good luck!

Thanks! @JustDSM is going to do the TRD flash to start and then I’ll get another ECU for for something spicier. Also need the stealth for good old Cali smog.

my Thanksgiving project. FYSA for the group, David over at SC online said they have started using a new bearing that will supposedly last longer when they press them. Dealing with some god awful slip and whine right now. It's borderline embarrassing rn

Have to get creative where to mount this guy, aux fuse box has claimed this spot. I would love to move battery behind seat and put resevoir where battery is but that would add alot of time and money, neither of which I have. Looks like with some 90° heater hose elbows I can squeeze it next to booster. Not going to mount until supercharger is on and I can see where the main hoses will be happy.1118231612_HDR.jpg

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
    Welcome.
I know many have removed the restrictor jet years ago. I have not. Appears there is a sense of improved response with the jet out. I have concern that it was put there to prevent some scenarios of unwanted shock to the system. I can't imagine there is any measurable gains with it removed. Only possible risk of increased wear.
Others can probably provide different/better reasoning. Just my two pennies.

I wonder if you could paint a quick change pulley black and be convincing? The difference from 2.85 to 2.6 was very noticeable.

They are 25k cars now. With over 100k and 6 owners.
I paid 16k for mine in 2009 with 40k miles bone stock 1 owner.
I kept the car OEM+ mint condition. I was 19 years old and didnt know what I had. Couldnt afford to do any horsepower mods but I had it looking perfect. If I had that car today It would have an oem hardtop and a nice big single under the hood.

They were awesome looking cars but they sucked when it came time for a rebuild. Timing chain slap was imminent if you ever had to mill or resurface the head a little bit.

My engine was prone to valve retainer cracking and weak synchros which I had. Made 0 hp below 6k rpms too
