I'm surprised you have not heard of RCV axles. 1" balls and 300m internal components. Outboard CVs are Dana 60 architecture combined with 4340/300m components—35 spline axles. They are def strong.

Appreciate it man. Wish I would have just got the correct tool when I originally installed them. The tool machines down to fit and still utilizing the hardware that came with it.. plus the Milwaukee right angle impact did the trick.. let it eat a little and will check torque later.

ive just parked it. frustrated with not being able to solve it myself or find the right mechanic to help. been busy working on my property to relax. just lost my mom. makes 3 this year. dad, sibling, mom, ugh. ill get back at it soon.ive got the fuel rails to install but im missing one piece. and honestly scared to try after the cams. shifting is firm on upshifts but violent downshifts putting slow is irritating. like im paying for going down the rabbit hole.

I bought the direct as part of a group buy. I think it was the second group.

That would be a question for a company that makes cams. I know some places will hard weld them and remind them. If you still have the specs card they might be able to do that.
Not sure on the cost. My WR250R I had cams done that way and it was $650. So it might expensive. If your interested in that option the place I went through was Webb cams. Their in southern California.

If you go this route and also have the spec card, this place may also be able to help you out. I had some JUN cams repaired by them for an SR20 back in the days.https://elgincams.com/

    Dislike..

I'm so sorry to hear that man, I hope you've been able to cope well enough and do what you need to do to heal Brotha. Been going through some similar stuff this year as well and have recently really tried to change my outlook on things and better my mindset, etc. Working on the taco does help...

I’ll agree, plus it sure beats the hell out of drinking yourself ‘till you forget. @White lightning boosted , my sincere condolences. Hang in there, things eventually get better.

On a side note, I took the Tacoma out for a ride today, put on about 250 miles driving back and forth to Connecticut. The truck went pretty good, didn’t miss a beat, but still had some belt slip when I really got on it (2.55 pulley), so I had to back off each time. I’m working on a solution to that, so not a biggie, still gathering the parts needed.
What did catch my attention though was my AEM AFR gauge acting up. If I was in 4th or 5th, and I got on it quickly with about 3/4 throttle, a quick 6-8 psi boost, the gauge would suddenly go to four straight lines, like it does in DFCO. I’m guessing the wideband sensor is on its way out. I’ll have to research it to see if it’s a common problem.
Here’s a quick pick I took when I got home, I can’t wait to finish the wrap mod and get the stronger tensioner on:

And for some comic relief, saw this on the road today:

I forget if you mentioned belt length. Are you on stock length or a shorter belt?

Thanks for asking, I think I definitely have a shorter belt, just took a couple pics, I’ll have to go back and look at my records, pretty sure I’ve got the correct length:

very kind of you to wish me well brother. i always stay busy, very busy. good for me to stay distracted. ive got 3 rigs now that need attention and its tough. hard to find a guy to help me figure out such specialized problems. im no pro mechanic like some fellas. and i make pretty good money but shop rates at 180/hr eat me up.
