If this crank no start on when cold, but will start after multiple attempts, sound like fueling. you may not be getting enough fuel at cold start. this would be a tuning issue. If you have the plug to close off the front port on that intake, try that. if it's only breathing air though the OE inlet that may be enough to help. or not, but if it works that would help confirm your too leak at cold start.
Think of the choke on your lawn mower or any carbureted vehicle.

edit: I hear the issue with that intake is the metering tube for the mass air flow sensor is not true to size and that is causing issues.

My issue was cold starts for sure and would result in some misfire codes but wouldn't. maf was all over the place with the momentum intake. i also kind of shortened the intake tube to help make installing and uninstalling the intake as it was shoehorned in there with the supercharger and the bigger throttle body with the adapter.

Currently have that port closed off and the intake side slid over my snorkel. Ran the setup for a while before the supercharger setup, but may be a lot more sensitive to those inputs now.

This is the biggest problem I see with the aftermarket intakes. Production tolerances are not held to the same standards OEMs do.

Intakes of the same Mfg/model require wildly different scaling at times.

The best 2g intake I’ve tested for consistency is the aFe Stage 2 Si w/ Pro Dry filter. Very consistent..

How about the TRD intake? They are on sale now and I know it will connect better to my snorkel. Also not sure I want to give aFe more money if this is the culprit.

Long cranking on cold starts could be a sign of low pressure at the fuel rail. What fuel pump did you install? Some of the turbine style ones lose line pressure over time (like the time it takes for your motor to cool down overnight) and could benefit from a check valve.

your fuel pump if aftermarket likely could be it. i have a check valve inline allowing th fp to have stock like pressure. just an idea.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm using the URD kit with a Aem E85 320 Lph pump and also installed a check valve at the same time after reading about it on another thread here. Installed that about a month before the supercharger.

throwing a gauge on it under the hood and recording the fuel pressure while cranking would be where I would start! Or have the wife turn it over ;)

My question was not in regard to flooding the engine.

I was merely asking about a new "feature" I have never heard of.

If anyone is really desiring a TRD cast blower, here’s a project for you.

Only the blower huh? Goes without saying it should probably be rebuilt. Are all the other parts readily available for purchase new? Or does one have to hunt on fleabay and the like?

I think someone said a while back the fit kits are no longer available or something.

Without fit kit sounds like the only purpose for something like this is as a spare parts for someone or a rebuild swap. Considering how pricey the rest of the parts would be to find/source I think the price is about double what it's worth.

Yeah, it’s virtually worthless to most people without having a fit kit.

could be a good core to do the pass-around core swap idea we had a month or two ago where the spare core could be mailed into SCOL to rebuild and return address being the next person in the list.
