I just love how crazy AI generated pictures can be. I mean, is that the USSR flag?!? Are those 9”lights part of the intake? Is the hood scoop functional? (Well, that last one we know it’s not)

It'll be awhile before AI is perfected but no rig is ever perfect is it? And that's possibly the iron curtain flying there.

Okay, recorded a little vid because I think the audio might be helpful - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZxHplRcRZk. Sounds like something is scraping, but only on startup. Could it be the belt again? Or a bad pulley? When I look at the engine everything appears to have sufficient clearance.

No sounds and smooth startup once the engine is already warm.

Do you have OEM headers? Do you have the secondary air pump?

    Did you do the u
Did you do the uni-filter mod on the secondary pump? I’d start there. Could be the foam that broke down and got into that pump.

I also get a vibration from my Doug Thorley headers at startup on cold starts but it’s not that loud and really quick to go away!

Yes, I did do the filter pump mod a while back. Issue surfaced right after the supercharger install so it was likely something I did in that process.

If you can’t tell what it is by hearing for it while someone else starts it, I would think the only logical course of action would be to start ruling things out. I’d start by unplugging the SAI and go from there. If that’s not it, try removing the belts one at a time. At least that should narrow things down a bit.

Drove my rig up to Mammoth Lakes, CA. Performed really well on the five hour trip up. Just driving back from sledding and noticed it’s not making boost in the low end. Floored it and my gauge read a max boost of 3psi, when it normally makes 8psi with the 2.85” near sea level.

Does that seem normal for almost 8k elevation?

Some of that is normal. How much is another question. You can take a quick look and make sure your vacuum line on the supercharger and boost sensor are on correct. I think norton in denver area make 5-6 with a 2.5" pulley just for reference.

    If
I guess I’m not too far off with 2500+more altitude and a bigger pulley. The vacuum hoses are all secure

2.5" RIP-modded pulley on a Qwikchange Hub, supported by @Roostfactor's Pulley Wrap Mod, produces ~6-7 psi boost at WOT here (~6K-7K ft elevation).

That's probably not far off. Cocktail napkin math says my boosted vechicles lose ~0.5psi of boost for every 1K ft of elevation gained.

i would say you had a problem until mentioning elevation. its normal to me. live at altitude, get small pulley.
