How difficult is it to replace the seal?

Not too difficult. Hardest part is getting to the tensioner. The intake side has a o ring while the oil side for the gears uses sealant.

That could work too. Provided you have access to the tool.

I'm in the Anaheim and work in Mission Viejo if anywhere along the 5 works. Have the tensioner lever but maybe a suggestion. You could probably rent it somewhere like AutoZone near you? I have a s/c oil/solid coupler kit you could pick up from me if you're going in that direction

When you replace the seal you will press the shaft out of the bearing under it and it becomes a nose drive rebuild.

Once you get the pulley off you need a press or access to a press, various spacers/sockets and the rebuild kit from SCOL. There is a video at the beginning of this thread that shows the process.

If you've ever felt either of those two M8 threads start to "give" slightly, now is the time to install keylock inserts.

Would you be down for a weekend nose rebuild? I called SCOL, and they said its about $280 with parts and labor, just to replace the seal. I would also have to take the unit off.

What's the thread pitch on those M8s? Trying to grab a flange bolt now for the wrap mod. Forgot what pitch it was when I did mine.

Dang.. normally I would but I don't have all the specialty tools at my place. Pretty sure you might need a press as cadcamman mentioned. If you mean bring some hand tools to remove the front cover, I could swing that..just on 6 days at work and would be free Saturday or Sunday mornings.

Oooffff...I might as well take the whole unit off and get it done. Since I don't have a press either.

Meh, I hope it grows on me, maybe its the yellow AEM logo but I'm not in love with them yet. I would hate to have no instrumentation with a boosted engine but im sure once its up and running I wont need to look at them much.

Going to put the UEGO right before upper cat on pasenger manifold, seems like the best place. Anyone else reccommend this? 17067915153135446538435680552257.jpg

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
I have the Perrin column gauge pods. They fit my PLX gauges well, come with round rubber inserts to adapt for different circumferences and have a pivot point to adjust positioning.
